We have stayed three times now including our honeymoon. Each time is a wonderful experience. Firstly the location is stunning with a long and almost empty beach. It's a perfect chill out location. The food including breakfast is amazing. It's sometimes best to dine out away from the hotel but don't miss out on this one. The food really is first class. The service always excellent. Our last stay was on the 12th floor in a suite. It was worth every penny for the spectacular views, watching the dolphins, and the very comfortable rooms c100sqm. The spa and both pools are excellent. Off season their isn't always service at the pool. Highly recommended.

The Blue & Green Troia Design Hotel is a great place to stay. The rooms are impeccable and the service very friendly. It's located in a beautiful setting (and I hope it stays that way). Only one drawback during our stay - poor WiFi in most areas, including the conference hall.

Room Tip: Higher rooms have the best views

We had a conference here last week and the hotel offers free internet and as far as the management are concerned, who cares if it works reliability or not... it is FREE.

The internet service is useless... AT&T USA loves it as I had to buy significantly more data for my phone - I mentioned this to the hotel at checkout and they are still getting back to me on issuing a credit for this.

As long as you don't expect to use the internet, this is a great hotel (although pretty dead vibe without our conference).

I would also strongly suggest taking the catamaran to Setubal for dinner. Much more affordable and what a great selection of restaurants to choose from. 15 mins each way on the cat. You only pay from Setubal to Troia, 6 euro. Free for the return.

Since its opening, was curious to stay in this hotel. Our 1st weeding aniversary was a good "excuse" to indulge in this.

Eventough it's a 5 star hotel, its rather pricey. I know other 5 stars on the beach just as good but with better value for money. But in Troia, this is the only one and maybe that´s why they up the prices.

Upon arrival, 1st service flaw: when booking, we specifically asked for a double bed. entering the room, it had separate beds. Return to the reception, and they tried to remedy it. But it took almost 15 minutes to do this and in the meantime we were sitting in the lobby and they could have offered us some refreshments but no. The room turned out to be the same, they just joined the beds and remade them with larger sheets. Bonus: when coming up for the 2nd time, champagne plus strawberies/chocolate awaited.....seems they read our minds and ammended the fault (and in a nice way).

The room (the most "basic") was very spacious, the bed and pillows excelent. Could be cleaner though . Hey, this is a 5 star hotel so my expectations and demands are high. Bathroom ok with sweet amenities. the view from the balcony was very poor, since it was not one of the sea-facing rooms. And the drapes cannot cover the sunlight that floods the room in the early morning. a blackout curtain would be much better.

The highlight of the decor is Joana Vasconcelo's sculpture of a woman shoe - truly amazing! The rest of the decor is nothing to rave about, since i´ve been on 4 star hotels which are better in this respect.

On the 1st morning, another highlight of this hotel: the breakfast. One of the best I´ve had!!! The service is atentive, and the variety is stunning. Definitely a bonus!

Another highlight, the outdoor pool. Besides being imaculately clean, the size, views and subnbeds are topnotch. the pool bar has a good variety of snacks and food, it´s expensive (I know, 5 stars.....) but serves a small sirloin steak an a special bread which is absolutely delicious ("prego de lombo em bolo de caco")! Howeverm the service could be a lot better. the pool boys seem to be there just to deliver towels since trays with empty dishes were not collected for ages around the pool. My sunbed had a fault with a wheel and none of them offered to help or exchange the bed, altough they were 10 metres frim me. Not aceptable.

Tip: parking in Troia Resort is difficult if you don´t choose the underground parks but - bonus - the hotel parking is free for guests. We checked out at noon, and they let us kee the car the rest of the day at no extra cost, which was nice from them.

All in all, a lovely stay for a romantic getway but also suitable for families.

Adjacent to the hotel, the Troia Casino and, at - a long - walking distance - a marvellous beach-

Room Tip: if you can afford it, go for the higher floors and with sea views

The breakfast buffet was really good but the service is terrible and not professional.
Room was not as clean as you would expect from a 5 star hotel, the hotel even though is new is already needing to have a refurbishment. Walls look old and dirty, furniture has some damage, bathroom floor near the shower is either needing some deep cleaning or a lifting.
The corridor carpet was always dirty, glasses from common areas were not clean. The rooms are not isolated, you can hear the alarm from next door.
The service is in general amateur and not from a 5 star staff hotel. Hotel collaborators were sometimes rude and slow.
A very nice location but unfortunately not well deployed by this hotel.
