We stayed for two nights in April and it was one of the highlights of our ten week tour of Europe. Our room, which had a lovely view over the front garden, stone wall and gates at the entry to the property, was very spacious, tastefully furnished, airy and light, as was the ensuite adjoining it. The bed was extremely comfortable and we slept well. The large house and out buildings, which have been lovingly restored by the owner and her husband, is situated in a semi woodland setting on the edge of a small village away from the hustle and bustle of some of the larger towns in the area and had a real air of serenity about it. Elisabeth was a delightful hostess, warm and welcoming, without being intrusive, who went out of her way to make our stay an enjoyable experience. Breakfast, served in the attractive dining/lounge room downstairs each morning was a sensation and included a range of local cheeses and other produce for us to try, along with fruits, yoghurts, omelette, breads (including gluten free options for me) and pastries. Elisabeth (who has an extensive knowledge of wines and offers tasting classes onsite) helped us to plan a very interesting itinerary of places to visit during our stay as well as recommending and calling ahead to make reservations for us at local restaurants and informing them of my dietary requirements. We would heartily recommend this accommodation, both for the warmth of the service and hospitality provided as well as the high standard of the facilities and breakfasts included.
