This was our third stay at the casino and hotel. It is fairly new. Each visit we swear we won't come back, but the views draw us back. We had a luxury room this time. The hotel is clean, the staff is ok - not overly friendly. The halls in the hotel have damage to the wallpaper. The furniture in the rooms is low quality, which is a shame because the bedding and towels are luxurious. Beware of setting anything on the table with the TV. It's pine with about 100 coats of lacquer and anything set on the table sort of sinks into the lacquer.
The restaurant is such a disappointment! There is a deck with a beautiful view of Lake Superior, the Apostle Islands and even the little marina. The food is bad. The salad bar was small but ok. The steak was about 50% fat and the didn't taste good. The garlic mashed potatoes were nothing to write home about. The casino is tiny. They were going to have roulette and craps, but opted against it and finally put 4 slot machines in that area. Several of the slot machines were out of order which is an even bigger disappointment because there are not many machines to begin with. The bar service was friendly. The pool area has a small outdoor patio. The hot tub is indoors/outdoors with plastic flaps to push out the way to be either inside or outside.
Can't stress enough the views are spectacular!! When they first opened the food service was excellent. Now we are almost afraid to eat the food.
