We stayed at the Knockderry House hotel on the 26th of October and found it to be one of the finest experiences we have ever had in the many hotels we have stayed in. The owner and all the staff were friendly and very professional. We booked in and were showed up to our room, which was number three and I highly recommend this room. From the four poster bed to the roll top bath it was luxury. After placing our bags in the room and refreshing ourselves we went downstairs to the bar. We had a light lunch and then a couple of glasses of wine in the bar next to the lovely open fire, we then went back into the restaurant for a lovely afternoon tea and a glass of bubbly, the food was really good and the service excellent. We arrived back in the restaurant at 19:30 for a lovely meal and a bottle of Pino, served by Laura. We retired up to our room and Laura brought us up another bottle of wine. The breakfast was again top notch and the staff was as friendly as they had been the day before. I would love to go back to this hotel again and cannot recommend it highly enough.

Room Tip: The rooms with the four poster beds facing the loch

We stayed at this hotel for one night for my husband's birthday & cannot recommend it highly enough. From the warm welcome on arrival to the spacious & comfortable room, delightful afternoon tea then fabulous dinner with great wine list, we could not have asked for more. The owners & staff were very attentive but not intrusive. The weather could have been better but that's Scotland in October! We are hoping to return to Knockderry one day & maybe stay a bit longer.

Room Tip: Room 1 was lovely

We had the pleasure of staying at Knockderry for one night to celebrate my boyfriends birthday.

Even before we arrived, the staff provided courteous and helpful information on the booking process. We arrived to a warm friendly welcome, checked in to our stunning master bedroom with a roll top bath and made our way to the inviting lounge with an open fire to relax over a drink.
We enjoyed a delicious evening meal overlooking loch long and the little extra touches I had planned for my boyfriends birthday were much appreciated.

Thoroughly recommended!

We had one night at Knockderry House - wish we could have had more. We chose a cheaper room - lovely view from the window, ensuite more than adequate, bed a little firm but that's a personal thing. Dinner was excellent, and we enjoyed pre and post dinner drinks in the bar before the open fireplace. The bar area was very pleasantly decorated and we utilised it the next morning to make our plans for the day. We can highly recommend this lovely hotel.

Perfect way to escape to the country. Richly appointed rooms. The bar was our favorite room, with beautiful craftsmanship, stained glass windows. Lovely dining room setting, excellent food. Our room was one of the top ten loveliest rooms we have stayed in. Comfortable, spacious, quality bedding, bathtub with a view, immaculate, and the room itself with a beautiful view. We truly enjoyed our stay and will be back.

I’ve stayed at the hotel once and been for lunch and dinner on a number of occasions with the latest one being last week. The hotel itself is an old private residence from the time when Glasgow business people had their weekend house down the river. It has been renovated to keep a very homely feel but is also really well presented.
The food here is well worth going for the trip alone and the Sunday lunch is great, the staff are well trained and very friendly and professional. If you go ask for a table in the window.
Although the place is only just outside of Glasgow when you are there you feel a million miles from anywhere.
