Leo and Jacqueline make this place most enjoyable.
The small pool was greatly appreciated in the heat.
The place is a 1km walk to the hop on hop off bus stop. Other than that you will need to taxi. Leo dropped us off at the bus stop one morning which was greatly appreciated.
Breakfast is really good, especially the lcsl dishes.
Rooms are basic but comfortable.
Plenty of chairs to lounge in but mozzies come out at dusk.
The ducks keep the crawlies under control.
Very relaxing place after a hot day sightseeing.

We stayed 4 nights at Serene Waters and enjoyed every minute. Leo and Jacqueline, the owners, were extremely hospitable hosts who did everything in their power to ensure a fun and comfortable stay for me and my hubby. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Jacqueline's home-cooked Goan meals were wonderful. Leo was quite a character, and very knowledgeable about the area. He made helpful suggestions about what we should see and do in the area and arranged transportation for us. We loved the daily buffet breakfast, which we weren't aware of when we booked our accommodation there. Lots of tasty food was available, including some local Goan food. The highlight of our stay was an evening of music and singing by the talented father-daughter duo. The common areas of the property were conducive to meeting our fellow travellers. The river setting was beautiful and peaceful. We loved the small infinity pool and waterfall. Our guest room was clean and quiet. The bed was comfy and the aircon, fans, toilet and wifi worked well. We didn't turn on the TV. The guest house was 10 minutes by cab or auto rickshaw from Panjim town. Hubby had to show the drivers the guest house location by using the gps on Google maps, as they didn't seem to know where it was located. We'd happily stay with Jacqueline and Leo again if we should ever find ourselves in the Panjim area.

Room tip: Our room was closest to the pool.

We stayed at Serene Waters at the beginning of our one month trip to South India and quickly realised that we had made the wrong choice. Serene Waters was too far from Panjim and getting taxis there and back each day is expensive. We loved the old quarter in Panjim with its pretty architecture, great cafes and eateries and wished we had booked there instead. We checked the accommodation around the old quarter in Panjim and came across many quiet, pretty options which would have served us much better.

During our stay, the stretch of water in front of Serene Waters Guest House had floating trash and was covered in oil slick. We were told that the rubbish came from the cruise ships. The overcrowded cages of frantic parakeets in the breakfast area and entrance did not add anything to the ambience. With regards to the room, we were glad to find that it had lots of windows and was bright. We had booked the ground floor room overlooking the backwaters. However the cage of parakeets was upstairs and directly over head! The bathroom was very basic and dirty. We had brought a bottle of spray disinfectant with us and gave both the toilet and sink a thorough clean.

We arrived exhausted from our London flight and would have loved to have slept off the exhaustion rather that be marched at 8 AM to breakfast. Each morning we received a call at around 8AM. We should have read the details more closely as we had overlooked the bit about breakfast times. One of the garden facing rooms has a loudspeaker outside which comes on in the early morning as part of the breakfast wake up call. On the whole the pictures make the place so much nicer than it actually is!

Leo is an attentive host and this made up for the various issues with the accommodation. It's easy to give him 100% just based on this and also the fact that he is a character. He was very helpful even offering to change our pounds and also offered us medical tourism if we needed it, which we didn't. I think this is probably the highlight of Serene Waters - Leo's willingness to help out. At least it was for us until, that is, we checked out and he left us a message saying that we inconvenienced him by an early arrival and late departure. However we had booked our taxi from the airport to Serene Waters via Leo and we did explain at what time our flight would arrive. We arrived at Serene Waters at around 8 AM and we did say we would go out for a walk and return later, if we could just leave our bags. Our onward destination was Hampi and we took a taxi to Panjim to book our sleeper bus. We explained that we would be happy to pay for an extra night as we would be leaving in the evening. But Leo did not have a room available and he instead suggested we spend the day on a bus tour and return to Serene Waters after this to collect our bags then leave. We should have followed our own inclinations and booked into a Panjim Hotel for the evening.

Room tip: Choose the water facing rooms and definitely give the garden rooms a miss.

Hey Tessa,
Write the truth though its bitter.
You wrote false reviews all over since i didnt give you a better review on Airbnb about you.
I gave you an early check in by 6 hours and adjusted since you all came tired after the travel and also late check out.
Did i do any wrong?
