“super property....the best hotel in goa”
Reviewed January 21, 2012

i have been to goa loads of times, however, this is the best hotel in goa for me. however, it must be added that this isnt quite the resort experience. it is more of a huge hotel found in most cities. it is perfect for weddings and conferences and i'm sure was built for exactly that. food was super too. rooms are spacious.

Room Tip: rooms are spacious

the property is excellent and location is v good. It has private beach. The location is near to Airport ( hardly 25-30 min drive). The rooms are facing sea and view from rooms are v good. The staff by and large are courtious. The ambivance and overall experiance is v good. The only minus point is they do not have any complaint register and do not accept any written communicatons for the same

Room Tip: ground floor rooms have opening on to lawns and beach

The hotel is a good choice for staying in north Goa. The rooms are very good especially the sea view rooms are excellent for the view they offer. Breakfast is average but the Indian restaurant (chulah) in the hotel offers excellent food. There were few hiccups like house keeping coming as early as 7:30 in the morning to check for the mini bar which was quite annoying as well as a weding going on inside the hotel. For someone who wants to enjoy just inside a resort then south Goa resorts would be the best option but if local sight seeing is also a consideration then Grand Hyatt would do just great. I am sure that the level of service of the staff in the hotel would increase with time.

Room Tip: Sea view rooms in the 2nd or 3rd building on the ground floor. It provides an excellent view of the...

Yes the hotel is new and the staff makes mistakes like missing charges on checkout or leaving bath items. But they respond when you bring it to their attention. Also its really a great quiet bay location compared to the rest of the seaside scene in Goa. Just remember that its away from evrything so either rent a car or stay put. Food prices are half of what i am used to in 5 stars.

Room Tip: Ask for sea facing and lower level

I recently stayed at the new Hyatt in town. (it opened in august) and i must say i was pleasantly surprised.
After reading all the reviews i was not very sure or happy about my choice. However i must say the Hyatt lived up to its impeccable reputation.
I was received by a smiling staff at the airport who escorted me to my car. (this is one of the only hotels i have come across in Goa that picks guests up in cars). A short drive and we reached the Resort. It is most impressive and true to its grand name with a majestic driveway and am entrance like a mansion. Check in was smooth and quick. I was escorted to my room in house 3.

Rooms: Spacious rooms wit sit out balconies which enjoy stunnin views over the bay. The rooms are tasteful and have facilities not usually seen in a Resort Hotel like an ipod docking station this makes you wonder whether it is a Resort or a Business Hotel. I did experience a problem with the air conditioning but was quickly shifted to a New room by an apologetic staff.

Dining: Tried The Verandah and Chulha. Couldnt decide which was better. Excellent food set on a backdrop of colonial style service makes this experience really special.
The room service though could improve. It seemed a little slow and never seemed to get my order right

Facilities: here is where the Hotel would lose points in my opinion. There are areas still in construction and although the work is still being done behind screens you do get a few Gawkers. The pool by itself is very nice with a nice wavepool. Camp Hyatt is the ideal place to drop yr kids off. Seek out Karishma and yr kids are in safe hands. The internet is stable although not lightening quick. Considering its Goa its all you require.

A special point.
Alot of reviewers have harped on the point regarding the poor beach facility. I too felt let down and decided to voice my thoughts/opinions to the Hotel staff. They pointed out a valid fact although not pleasing as we were in goa. This Hotel is set on the bambolim bay and as a result has a poor beach. The duty manager on shift although apologetic pointed out this fact to me and also showed me the hyatt wesite. It is a little sad considering the beauty of this Resort.

Its hard to say whether the reviews have been harsh/isolated or whether the team there has just pulled up its socks. The politness courtesy could not be faulted at any time though

My family(wife and 2 kids) stayed at Grand Hyatt, Goa during the year end and we thoroughly enjoyed the stay. This property is located on the scenic Bombolim bay and it has a fantastic pool, This hotel has a wonderful and a cheerful staff, in spite of the new year rush in the hotel ,the services were top notch.

We enjoyed the food at the Dining room and the Chulha, Would recommend this hotel to families who would are looking forward to a relaxing location

We stayed at this hotel for a few nights in this very modern resort with spacious rooms and bathroom. Our room had a decent balcony overlooking the garden and the beach.

The restaurant food was good (though the buffet spread was less than any city hotel, but was cheaper too, so no issue) however service certainly needs to improve, willing and polite staff were too busy to achieve high standards of service. The restaurants certainly seemed short staffed and staff required more training; management needs to take care of this. Presence of managers during breakfast (which is by far the busiest meal period of the day) would have helped.

The hotel is 20 minutes from the city and about 35 minutes from the airport. The drive from the airport is nice as the city is quite green and has good roads. I do not mind the distance from the airport, especially when the hotel sends a BMW 7 series for pick up or drop.

The hotel is not complete yet and the work is still going on at a few places, hence one can spot the labour moving around carrying a paint tin or so, management could at least give them a uniform so they look a part of the hotel. Spa and gym is not operational yet but pools compensate fo that.

Overall a good hotel, but at this moment it seems incomplete. I would recommend a bay view room to all.

Room Tip: Spreadout resort, may not be easy for people on a wheelchair.
