From the minute we all walked through the door to the time we unfortunately had to leave it was a perfect place to stay. The place had everything you could ask for and out hosts were very welcoming. A big thanks to Stevie for showing us his Harris tweed loom workshop, a real eye-opener and privilege.
Fresh eggs were delivered by Rebecca from the chickens behind the property and the kids loved feeding them.
The lodge is situated in a quiet spot but within easy reach of the local shop in the next village and only 25 mins to Tarbert.
All in all a fantastic week in the lodge and we will be looking to come back again.
From the minute we turned up the hosts where very welcoming. The little touches they do aswell with the fresh eggs and a bottle of wine showed how caring the hosts where by going that extra step for there guests. The cabin was outstanding can not fault it at all was way more than what i expected, i didn't want to leave. Stephen gave us a demo on how the harris tweed is made much appreciated for the demo again another wee special touch from the hosts. I will defo be back and if anyone is looking for somewhere to stay this is the place to stay amazing hosts n the cabins are amazing aswell. Looking forward to coming back to stay here again in the future. Thanks again
This is our 5th year running at the Rodel valley log cabins and once again we have had an amazing stay. The cabin is very family friendly and the swing and sandpit out the back are a firm favourite with our boys. Stephen and Rebecca are very welcoming hosts and the cabin is a real 'home from home'. On a cold harris day there is a lovely log burning stove and sauna. The kitchen is very well equipped for families wanting to cook for themselves. We could not ask for more. Thanks
Fantastic week away in Rodel, cabin was excellent and the personal touches provided by Rebecca and Stephen made it even more special. Stunning beaches and scenery within a short drive. Great little loch walk nearby which was great for the walk and fishing -;). Also loved walking down to the St Clements Church. Plenty to see in Harris however we looked forward to coming back to our cosy cabin. Luckily we had great weather so we had fantastic time. Had lovely meals in The Anchorage and Croft 36.
Found it hard to pack up and leave and would definitely recommend this accommodation to anyone visiting Harris.
We will be back again (for 3rd time-:)
Fantastic cabin with every comfort and facility that we could need during our week on Harris. The spa bathroom and sauna was a great treat after exploring the amazing outdoor splendours. Quiet and peaceful spot not too far from the spectacular beaches of Harris. Had a wonderful time here. Hope to come back again in the future.
Fantastic week away-from-it-all in Rodel, cabin was excellent and the personal touches provided by Rebecca and Stephen made it even more special. Stunning beaches and scenery within a short drive. Great little loch walk nearby which was great for the dogs. Also loved walking down to the St Clements Church and around the Rodel Hotel (sadly closed at the moment). Plenty to see in Harris and Lewis however we looked forward to coming back to our cosy cabin to chill. Luckily we had great weather so we were able to enjoy the garden, just watching the hens, lambs and listening to the cuckoo! Had lovely meals in The Anchorage in Leverburgh and the Machair Kitchen, Niseaboist - there are also lovely art studios next door to the restaurant (does lunches and dinners). Found it hard to pack up and leave and would definitely recommend this accommodation to anyone visiting Harris.
Pictures really do not do this place justice. Stunning quiet location near Rodal. The owners make you very welcome indeed. Dog friendly and plenty of places to walk the pooches, especially just in front of the cabin across the road where a stunning Loch sits invisible from the road. Ideally located in South Harris just a mile or so from Leverburgh. Word of advice though don't follow your Sat Nav when arriving from the ferry follow the signs for Leverburgh via the world's most stunning beaches at Luskentyre and Scarista, The single track road on east side although again stunning can be quite "hairy" for the first time. Will definitely return as 4 days is just not enough for this place. Thank you for letting us stay.
