We ate in the restaurant on both of our two night stay at The Eltermere Inn. We were really lucky with the weather and enjoyed a drink in the garden overlooking the lake where our orders were taken. My husband chose the seafood bisque for starters on both evenings - it was delicious. I had the crab and avocado dish one evening and a special the second night which was belly pork, scallops and black pudding with dressed leaves- very nice. Our mains were a special pork dish - belly pork ,tenderloin , black pudding , fondant potatoes - he is still raving about it.. I chose a different special of smoked haddock with poached egg and crushed potatoes - very good. On our second evening he chose wiener snitzchel - with dauphinoise potatoes which were beyond good and I had the chicken. We even managed desserts one evening - the local cheese platter ( very good) and I had the rhubarb and gooseberry crumble - again very nice. Both the dining room and the bar area are very stylish , yet welcoming. The staff are friendly and attentive. It's a special place - give it a try.
