“lovely pub”
Reviewed April 17, 2013

lovely olde worlde pub, didnt eat but meals looked good but expensive!!!! In a lovely location I do think this factors in to the price of the meals as very remote. Always seemed full and barstaff pleasant!

“Always busy!”
Reviewed April 17, 2013

Always busy....which is good right?
Great on a sunny day to sit outside and people watch!
Very small inside so doubt you can plan to eat there unless you find a free table.
Meals are good

“watering hole”
Reviewed April 12, 2013

Busy inn, with loads of space outside, well placed between Ambleside and Grasmere. Not cheap but extensive range of lunch tome food. Service quick ( Sunday), and you can always get a bus back if the flip flops are worn out.

Lovely pub, good grub and great beer. Not the most inexpensive place to eat but worth it to preserve the warm ambience.

“Pub with character”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

This pub always has a warm welcome and serves good quality food and locally brewed beers as well. Plenty of seating outside but dogs are also welcome inside.
