“Good beach for swimmming”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 4, 2014

Turner's is a good, quiet beach for swimming in calm, clear waters without throngs of people. The beach bar offers a great assortment of drinks on a warm day!

“Nice Turquoise water”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 5, 2014

We stayed at the Northern end by Jacqui O. I think it is considered Crab Hill beach. The beach, the color of the water and the views are beautiful . The sand is not as fine as Vally church or JH, and it has little pebbles. However the visibility is much better. Also there is a immediate drop off once you enter the water.

“Definitely not the best”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 19, 2014

We paid $8 each for a taxi from the cruise terminal
Chairs were $5 each and the umbrellas were free, but you need to get there early to nab one.
The spot isn't very scenic - every beach we visited on the eight islands in our cruise was better.
The chairs are a very uncomfortable design and most of them are warn out. When you sit on them, the middle sinks and the back shoots up and smacks you on the head. This can lead to some light entertainment, but happens too often to be funny.
They do have newer chairs (turquoise, rather than dark blue. For some reason, however, they don't use these until all the worn-out ones are already in use.
Also, there is a very steep shelf going into the sea, which makes it very difficult getting in and out of the water as the sand gives way under your feet and it's like trying to walk up a down escalator.
Finally, we were very disappointed to find the restaurant kitchen closed when we were there. They were doing a barbecue on the beach instead, which didn't start until hours after we were ready to eat, and the menu was nowhere near as interesting as the kitchen menu.
Next time in Antigua, we'll try a different beach.

“Heaven”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 18, 2014

While we ate at the restaurant, (Lobster salad & crab cakes, and it was good) the view overshadowed everything else. While we ate, I noticed more people coming in so we immediately booked beach chairs under a wooden umbrellas, so as to save our spot (I think tour groups/cruise groups come to this beach, but there are so many beaches in Antigua, it never seems oppressively crowded). Then we waddled over to beach chairs under wooden umbrellas and counted our blessings. There are hawkers selling fresh coconut juice etc, but not pushy, and luckily, they kept coconuts chilled so very refreshing!

“Low-Key beach”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 8, 2014

Drove down to the Southeast part of Antigua to explore for the day. Turner's beach is low key. There are shady spots if you don't want to pay for a cabana and beach chairs. Lovely sand and water. Beach is clean.
