This resort is extremely close to airport. Just 10 mins away. Stayed there for 1 day due to my 8am flight the next day. The staffs were very polite. A very simple and relaxing place. It feels like somewhere free of worries. I feel the bed was not as hard as some other reviews mentioned. It's definitely one to consider if you want to stay somewhere near to the airport to catch an early filght.

Very nice hotel, a 2 room apartment with kitchen! Nice pool and balcony. A little bit to walk to the beach and restaurants. We only stayed 1 night, near to the airport but we may stay longer next time. Good value for the money.

Stayed at kasalong for one night as a stop over for the next days flight(which was great because the airport was only 5 mins away). The resort was a little run down. The beds were a bit like sleeping on a concrete slab and there was something wrong with the plumbing. However the service made up for it. We had breakfast there on the morning that we left and even though it was no buffet style it was still very yummy. We were told by another couple that there was some beautiful beaches near by, however we didnt get a chance to check them out and you cannot see them from the resort. Overall we were happy with our stay as a stop over however for more than that we would stay somewhere a bit closer to shops and restaurants.

This is the sister hotel to the Nai Yang Beach Resort, which is nearby but a million miles away in quality.

First the positives, the pool is small but nice and the gardens are well kept. If you have a family, the rooms are spacious and there's a lounge area with a sofa, microwave and sink. The balcony is also a good size and overlooks the pool and gardens. And it's really close to the airport.

But sadly that's it really. The rest of the place has a slightly depressing feel to it - as if it is just being left to eventually crumble away. The worst element was the bathroom, which featured blocked plugs and a terrible egg smell coming from the shower.

Showers in Thailand usually offer welcome respite from the heat - not here, where we washed only for as long as we could hold our breath.

All of this would be fair enough if the price wasn't so high. We paid BHT2500/£50 for a night, which is far too expensive for what you could get elsewhere.

The beach is a 15-20 minute walk and if it's raining you'll need to go through the Indigo Pearl if you have a child buggy. The road is poorly lit and has a few open manholes.

After waiting 10 minutes on a cocktail order, only to be told they couldn't do it, my friend compared the resort to Fawlty Towers - which is a bit harsh, but does have some truth to it.

The Kasalong is a bit dated and slightly run-down, BUT the "suites" are large (about 60sqm) , consisting of a bedroom, bathroom, living/dining area (with fridge, sink, microwave, and an outdoor balcony...and everything worked for us!!!! We only stayed for 1 night as we were leaving on a very early morning flight but actually wished we'd stayed for the entire 4 nights we had in Phuket....why???? 1. Because the Nai Yang Beach area is so much more relaxed, quiet and, overall, nicer than Patong and Kata - surprising for a district near an airport; 2. The staff were friendly, helpful and attentive without being at all pretentious; 3. Although we had to pay for the Wifi, the connection was superfast and secure..and the rates were reasonable through CyberPoint; 4. A nice vibe overall:-) 5. Only a 15 - 20 min walk to the main Nai Yang Beach area, where there are reasonably nice restaurants and bars and some shops;
On the down-side, although the rooms and pool were very clean (but just basic in presentation), the water feature at the front of the hotel was very much in need of a good clean...a shame when 1st Impressions can mean so much:-(
Overall, the Kasalong is a good value, solid base for those who don't need a "flashy" place. Very good for overnighters flying out early or late to/from Phuket Airport but would also recommend for a longer stay if tariff remains below & US$65.
