On the back of trip-advisor recommendations took my parents and son to the Richmond for my mothers birthday. It was a Sunday and the pub did seem more a restaurant than a pub. Chorizo scotch egg and fries with eyes(sprats) for starters. Looked good tasted even better. Roast sirloin for my guests and Dover sole for me. Beef was apparently best had for some time. Dover sole was perfectly cooked and v v nice.
Puddings also looked good.
Will be going here again soon.

We came here a couple of years ago and raved about it then, so it was good to be back and find that the menu was still as exciting and varied as before. Really good to see some unusual dishes and combinations of flavours that genuinely make it hard to choose what to go for. Recommended without hesitation and well worth seeking out.

We celebrated our wedding anniversary on 7th February and following the wonderful reviews, decided to book. I must say, that I am so pleased we did. The service was really good, attentive and welcoming.
The food was exceptional, so we will definitely be returning.
Thank you, thank you, thank you...

A real find. Totally unprepossesing exterior ("I'll keep driving") hides an excellent restaurant with charming friendly service and really good food. Good beer, though I'm not sure how many regulars would drink here, and reasonably priced unusual wines add to an all round above average experience. The veggie dish was particularly praiseworthy both for thought, presentation and taste and woodcock on the menu is an unexpected benefit. Lucky are those that have this closebye. Make the most of it.

Popped in for a drink and was so impressed by the menu had to go back for a meal. Booked a table for four on valentines night and took both rooms above the bar.
From the start we were impressed by the friendliness of all staff. Service was relaxed but spot on.
The menu had some lovely twists so we put together some bar snacks as a mixed starter. Four main courses later and we're all looking forward to the dessert menu as the standard has been so high. The menu came with some twists so we had mixed desserts for four as we wanted to try everything. The food was all cooked perfectly and the chef combined flavours with real talent and flair. Presentation was great. Definitely going back.
Breakfast was presented beautifully with various fruits, cereals, etc before a cracking full english.
Rooms were good too.
