“go and eat here”
Reviewed February 8, 2012

Visited this restaurant after reading about it on this website and definetly not disappointed. Possibly the nicest food i've eaten in Chichester, great service, lovely atmosphere and a fantastic looking menu which made ordering hard work. For two of us, 3 courses each and a bottle of wine cost around £80 which I think was entirely reasonable considering the quality of the food. Can't wait to go back.

“Excellent, imaginative and a great evening”
Reviewed January 25, 2012

This is a tiny 'pub' restaurant in a fantastic Downs village. Very pretty.
A great little atmosphere in two small rooms. Nicely furnished.
Very imaginative menu which was very well cooked.
A wonderful hostess very evident in the pub supported by good, fun table staff.
All in all very little to fault and a very pleasant evening.

“Fantastic !”
Reviewed January 23, 2012

We booked a late table (9.30pm) because the restaurant was fully booked. Emma suggested we come along about 8.45 and have a drink and nibbles at the bar just incase the table became available earlier which we did. I have to say we haven't enjoyed an evening/meal so much in ages from start to finish - the service very friendly, chilled but still professional. Food was amazing, great atmosphere and a member of staff even gave us a lift home !! thank you to all, you will be seeing a lot more of us.

“We love this place”
Reviewed January 21, 2012

The Richmond Arms is the best Pub in our area
I eat here with friends and family and many of our friends eat here as well, it is very special, the food very interesting and locally sourced where possible. The staff, the Chefs charming wife their Bar Manager and other staff are all friendly and helpful. They have a good selection of wine to accompany the food.
We like to go weekday lunchtimes Sunday is a bit more predictable with Roasts. It is not normal pub grub and the prices reflect this but its worth every penny.
The decor is simple which I like they also have letting room
I cannot recommend this place more

“Really excellent”
Reviewed January 15, 2012

I and 3 others ate here on the night of 14 Jan 2012. We were a bit late to our table on what was clearly a very busy night (apologies to the owners) but had a fantastic evening. The food was really good and the service excellent & charming.

We each had a starter and mains, followed by shared deserts. I had tempura prawns followed by local steak - which was the best I have had in years. My partner had the crabcake followed by the lamb - which was cooked perfectly in a kind of tagine style - a brilliant mix of sweet and spicy flavours. Desert was almond creme brulee with amaretti icecream. We didn't try the wine as we were running the next morning (sorry). The atmosphere and staff were really good & we will be back. Thank you.
