We spent 12 nights in the Beachfront Bungalow. The location of this hotel cannot be bettered. The staff are the best I have come across in the hospitality industry. Friendly, smiling and always wanting to help. The breakfast is great and you are able to order what you want from a large menu. Excellent espresso coffee brought to you without even having to ask and refills are generously offered. The rooms are clean and very comfortable and the outside shower is an excellent idea. We hired scooters from reception and explored the island without feeling threatened or in danger from other motorists. A big thank you to Lek, Orn, Nan and the rest of the Promtsuk Family. The beach is kept very clean and the huge tree in front of the hotel creates enough shade for a pleasant day lying on the beach. Would definitely return to this hotel if we visit Koh Samui again in the future.

Room Tip: The beachfront bungalow no 6 is the best. If this is not available, try no. 5 as it is also very near to the beach with great views.

Like coming home, but shouldn't have been there at all this time!
Fourth time and we still love it. And what a welcome from the staff when they suddenly saw who was coming. Very friendly staff and they did so much for us and our daughter.
Lucky to get the (OUR!!!) beachfront bungalow even we came same day after a terrible experience at Krabi.
So quiet and like heaven. Nothing to worry about, just relaxing.

Some important facts:
Reception close at 9pm.
Same wonderful restaurant for breakfast an dinner, open 8am to 5pm only!!! But GREAT and cheap food, remember to order before 5pm. Two adult and a 11 year old girl can live for around 1200 bath daily, including all food, drinks and tips!
About 8 min walk to the left at the road for Family Mart (Like 7-eleven), open 24h.
No pool, but you don't need it. Beautiful beach!
Only a short taxi-trip to Lamai and Chaweng.
Wifi all over resort.

Only a few staff at the resort, but very kind and lovely people. Love their job!!!
The owners and sons at the resort too. You really feel like a part of one big family.

Try it... Lek and co. will make it a perfect stay.

Stayed there for 2 weeks in 2012, and is comeing back in december :). The food and service is excellent and the staff also very friendly.
The place is only a few years old, so the bungalows are very nice a in good shape. There's cleaning every day, and you can get your landry done for almost nothing.
We are looking forward to come back in december and off course we can highly recommend this place.

My family and I stayed at this place for 34 nights in 2011 and 9 nights in february 2013. This is without a doubt the best place we have ever stayed. The bungalows, the garden, the beach, the food - everything is fantastic. The service provided by the family that runs this place is world class. If you are looking for at huge resort with pools and entertainment for the children: Don't choose Promtsuk Buri. If you are looking for an authentic peaceful place to stay - then this is the right place for you. This is a fact whether you are a couple or a family.
The pictures on their website www.promtsukburi.com do not lie. The place is beautiful in every way. We recommend it to everyone (that is not looking for parties etc).

We were booked to stay for a week but only lasted one day. Bad points: bungalow didn't look like it did in the photos, it looked quite run down. It smelt stale and musty and there were horrible bits of dirt in the bathroom. The room didn't seem very secure and the bed was rock hard. There was no service to speak of. When we arrived we had to wait an hour before anyone came to reception to check us in. Then another wait when we went back to see if the bathroom could be cleaned. And yet another wait when we gave up and decided to move hotels, but by then it just confirmed the poor service. Unfortunately we had paid upfront and couldn't get a refund. There's no pool in the resort. Good points: lovely gardens and right on a lovely, fairly secluded beach. There are some massage places on the beach too. The hotel isn't near the busy touristy areas, but it's close enough to visit those on scooter, and the hotel next door hires those out. The reception area is air conditioned which is a relief if you have to wait ages for someone to come. Overall, it is very basic, but even then I'd expect better service and cleanliness, and I don't think it's worth the moderate price.

Room Tip: All the bungalows seemed very similar.
