Having recently done a cooking class with ying, I can only recommend that you do it if you're looking for a good day out, with a lovely person teaching you to cook great food.

The day started with a trip to the local market where Ying will show you some weird and wonderful ingrediants and is an experience in itself.

The good thing about Yings class, is that you choose what you cook, unlike many cooking classes where you cook the standard set menu.

Following some disappointing restaurant attempts,We cooked my favourite pad thai, and it was great to finally get a decent and authentic one.

We also cooked a yellow fish curry. Beautiful. But be careful when Ying asks you how hot you want it. Take my word for it, thai hot is a lot hotter than western hot!

Ying is a lovely person, who seems to love what she does, and does it very well. The class takes place at her home with her parents helping out, so you really get an idea of thai life.

This is a day we won't forget. Thanks Ying.

It was fantastic, positive and fun day!!! The smiles passed across our faces since we met Ying. This class was a memorable event of our trip to Thailand.

We started the day by visiting the local market, where we learnt some common and quite interesting ingredients which are used in Thai cuisine. Then we arrived at Ying's home and met her beautiful family. It was great learning some basic preparation techniques and with Ying's help we cooked a delicious meal. It was a wonderful lunch with great conversation and lots of laughing.

It was very very very AWESOME cooking day! This was definitely the highlight of our trip and an experience we will never forget. Thank Ying and her friendly family who made us feel so welcome in her house and for all the Thai knowledge she tought us, not only about cooking but specially about their traditions.
Ying is great person! Always smiling, positive and high-energy!

If you are going to Koh Samui you definitely should visit this place. It's not only about cooking, it's also about having a lot of fun with amazing people:)

We visited Ying and her family at her cooking school as part of our honeymoon last week. It was a great way to see Ko Samui life and to learn some Thai culinary secrets. It was one of the best experiences of our visit to Thailand.

We began by visiting a local market that we'd probably not have even known was there to buy ingredients for our chosen dishes. All the traders seemed to know Ying well and were very friendly as she taught us about the galaxy of fish, meats, vegetables, herbs and spices that are essential to proper Thai cooking.

Back at Ying's home we were led step-by-step through the creation of four Thai dishes, from preparation to consumption - the end result was authentic and very tasty, better than any Thai meal I've had in the UK, and was actually very easy to cook - thanks to Ying's enthusiastic and clear instruction.

Ying herself is charming and great fun, and speaks better English than anyone we met in Thailand - despite English being her third language - which made me feel rather embarrassed at my lack of language skills!

A lot of hotels offer Thai cooking lessons in their own kitchens but I would urge anyone wanting the best experience, and a great slice of real Ko Samui life, to drop Ying a line and spend a genuinely memorable day with her and her family (and cats)

This experience was possibly the best of our holiday in Thailand. Everything about this day spent cooking with Ying at her familys home was perfect, from start to finish. Being educated on all the ingredients at the local market was a brilliant insight on its own, then going on to cooking with the amazing ingredients in an authentic way was just perfect. Make sure you book this experience as it is one you should not miss out on. Ying is a superb host and extremely helpful. Book in advance though as it is beginning to get very popular.

A wonderful day spent cooking and learning more about thai cuisine and culture with Ying and her family. Ying has such a wonderful fun loving personality, our whole group had a ball. I was so impressed with the way Ying explains the steps to creating each recipe and key techniques that impact each dish leaving you with a strong sense of the importance of the beautiful fresh ingredients and traditional techniques that go into creating her delicious recipes. I would highly highly recommend this class, if you have no experience whatsoever in cooking or are quite the culinary wizz you will gain so much from this cooking class. I found Yings philosophy around food and health as well as living life to its fullest so inspiring and am so excited to see what I can create when I get home, thank you to Ying and your beautiful mum and dad!
