“A little piece of heaven!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 2, 2013

We stayed here for 9 nights as part of our honeymoon. A truly beautiful place. The view from our villa was amazing. You would would honestly think you had the place to yourself it's so private. Bill is the best host ever, he took us to his favourite restaurants, helped us hire a scooter and gave us a tour of the local area. He went above and beyond in his efforts to make sure we had the best time. It's the first time we did not want to leave somewhere and we will definitely be back. My only advice is that however long you are going to book for, make it longer. You will not regret it. Just make sure you have some sausages for Mollie the dog! Thanks again to Bill for some fantastic special memories.

Room Tip: It's a good idea to hire a scooter. It was a great way to explore Samui and good fun.

Samui Mountain Village is a gorgeous place with stunning views. The villas are large, private, comfortable, beautifully appointed and each villa has an amazing view from a large deck. The villa includes a small kitchen with breakfast supplies restocked each day, extremely comfortable beds and airy rooms due to the number of screens throughout permitting a nice airflow. Air conditioning is effective when you need it. The grounds are lush and colorful with the swimming pool being a definite highlight. It is deep, cool, refreshing and open 24 hours a day, supplied with lots of seating area. Bill is amazing with his attention to detail and is ready to help out in any way. He was kind enough to take us on a local tour, drop us off places, showed us highlights of the island that we later explored. Bill took us to the hospital and dentist, taking the time to hunt for the best options and price. The staff were helpful, kind and polite. Most definitely get a massage from Chompoo early in your trip, because you will want to book her again! A car or motorbike is advisable. What a quiet and relaxing location. We would definitely come back!

This is the third time we've been to Samui Mountain Village so I think it's pretty clear - we love the place! It's the perfect, picturesque, peaceful place shown on their website, so you don't get there and have that sinking feeling that it's not quite what you expected. It's everything and more. Bill and his staff, Kun Chang, Kun Yow, Kun Nee and Kun Bom make sure the place has a friendly feel and there's always a smile and a laugh to be had. This time around the great addition to the place was the healing hands of Chompoo, the masseuse who resides just across the road. She's actually a gifted therapist - the best massages I've had in over 20 years of visiting the island! Now, we're back in Melbourne and missing our little villa and all the wonderful people we met there - and especially Molly the Dog, who takes you on your daily walk and makes sure you don't get lost. We'll be back. Nad & Bree

Our stay at Samui Moutnain Village was perfect. The villas are large, comfortable and private. We travelled all the way to Koh Samui and never made it to the beach--there was no need--Samui Moutain Village has a beautiful pool, with a beautiful view, and open to guests 24 hours a day. The decks in each villa have spectacular views of the beach, coves and ocean. If you awake early you can sip tea or coffee on the deck and watch the sun rise over the ocean. We rarely left the premises--went out to buy "take-away" food and returned to eat on our deck. We were told all units were full during our stay, but we never would have guessed it. It was quiet, restful and the staff never appeared stressed or too busy to attend to our requests. We often felt we were the only ones there. The staff is friendly and helpful; they assisted us in every way. The kitchen is stocked daily with breakfast food and upon our arrival we were driven to Tesco to purchase any other groceries we wanted. We had an early morning flight out and offered to call a cab, but were told airport pick-up and drop-off were provided and that we should not be concerned. We came to Koh Samui after six days in Hong Kong and were seeking quiet, rest and relaxation--we found it all at Samui Mountain Villas. We cannot recommend the location, comfort, amenities, service or staff too highly. You will not be disappointed if you stay here.

Tthis is simply a wonderful retreat, made all the more perfect by the manger, Bill, who we really couldn't thank enough. He did so much for us, countless lifts into the town, was always around to chat to, and really added that extra personal experience.
We were even upgraded on our arrival and stayed in the fabulous owners apartment.

We have such high expectations of holidays and although, not necessarily disappointed I often return home and reflect on an "ok" time......not on this holiday!

Samui Mountain Village is a GEM, seldom found.

An Intimate, tailor made resort, perfectly situated on a cliff with uninterrupted views of the very best Koh Samui has to offer, beaches, coves, Islands, blue blue sea, stars and everything you imagine a tropical Island to be...you see it all from your villa, poolside, and gardens of Samui Mountain Village.

You will be made to feel very special at SMV by the kindness and hospitality of Bill, the owner/manager. Bill and his lovely, smiley staff, Molly the dog included, make every effort to ensure your holiday is one to remember, for all the right reasons. Absolutely, nothing is too much trouble.
The Villas are spacious, with a great atmosphere and because of the open plan layout you can enjoy the view, even, from your big comfy bed!
Everything is up to date, maintenance, bathrooms, lashings of hot water, etc., cleanliness, fluffy towels, sheets, attention to detail is done with pride at SMV.
The pool area and gardens are quite beautiful. The pool is large with the view all around you, the water is silky and not chlorinated, carefully salinated for hygiene .
Everywhere are flowers, shrubs and trees, but surprisingly very few insects, the location being on a hillside with an accompanying gentle breeze, very welcoming in 30 degrees!

I urge ALL to go to this unique, charming, peaceful paradise......it really does exceed all expectation, and now that we have found it, we shall be visiting Samui Mountain Village again and again!

We cannot speak highly enough of our recent stay at Samui Mountain Village, from the airport pick up to our "sad to see you leave" farewell, we felt as if we were the only guests in the place.

Everything we had read about this place was delivered: the spectacular views; the generous size of the villas; the beautiful bird-haven gardens; the always on hand, but not intrusive friendly staff and even Molly the dog. It was quickly confirmed we had made the right choice.

No request went unattended, and the Manager Bill could not have assisted us to enjoy our time on the island any better. He offered lots of valuable suggestions and was a great help organising a hire car and its collection.

The are lots of places to stay on the island, but it would be Impossible to beat the view from the Samui Mountain Village, anywhere else. Sitting in the Sala, swimming, lying on a poolside lounge, or relaxing on your private balcony it is an uninterrupted wonder as you look across the bay to Chaweng Beach and beyond. If you are lucky like us, after the sun sets the city's twinkling lights will be improved by the bonus of a fireworks display.

This is a venue that has been designed with the guest in mind. Even if you miss the attention to detail dressing of the air-conditioned unit. You will not take the comfortable sleep-ensuring, king sized mattress and quality bed linen for granted - they are fabulous.

If you can be tempted off the hill, nearby Lamai township is another bonus. It is softer and quieter than better known Chewang. There is shopping without bustling crowds or traffic, a bevy of great food and dining options, and inviting sandy beach foreshores. What more could you want on holiday?

We will be back!
