What makes this beautiful spot in the Shuswaps stand out from many other 'roughing it' places could very well be that you find yourself completely surrounded in tranquility in its most naturalistic setting, yet feel as though you are walking through luxury. I have been coming here since the summer of ’85... the natural beauty of Scotch Creek has changed very little; it’s the jewel that stands with time… but what has undergone modern changes are the amenities, the things that have made camping a word that can be said by many with a smile (hot showers, water taps, etc. paved bike trails, huge playground, a nearby Park Store or two, local shops, bistros, café houses and lots of ice cream!).
Majority of the 200+ campsites in Scotch Creek have been designed for maximum privacy surrounded by trees reaching the skies; you will soon discover true serenity, well-other then friendly chipmunks wondering what mischief awaits them. The gates are locked up at night and the grounds are religiously patrolled through-out the night.
As the years pass, I often will rise early, make some coffee and watch the sun come in and paradise come to life. We spend most of the day on the beach which happens to be a short walk from each site. And, it wouldn’t be camping for us, I say with a smile, if we didn’t spend some evenings over by the Creekside playing pool, mini golf, bowling, or enjoying laughter & stories over dinner outside on their patio. The evenings at Scotch Creek are filled with sounds of crackling fires, laughter, the odd guitar, and on some nights the amphitheatre comes to life. Scotch Creek is that adventure you really wish would never end.
