This is an amazing place and definitely a must if you are in south Serbia. There is a car parking at the entrance and then you must walk 15-30 minutes (depending on your physical fitness). There are also several stairs, so don’t remember to wear appropriate shoes. The view from the top is just amazing.

This was a pleasant walk through a lovely forest on well made paths with steps wherever the climb is steep. The actual geological formations of heavily eroded shingly rock capped by hard stones was a little underwhelming as I personally have seen better examples of this type of structure in other parts of the world. However if you have never seen such formations it could be of interest. Some information boards explaining the way in which these landforms were created would be helpful.

Dear Sus1952,
Thank you for the review. We hope you enjoyed your tour.
You're absolutely right about the boards, it would help our visitors with information about the our natural phenomena. On the other side, all our visitors get brochure with basic information about the creation, composition, legends etc, and also a leaflet with guided information about all the points you'll see on your walktrough.
We hope you'll meet us again!

I leave Prolom Banja in the morning and my plan was to visit the "Devil's town" nearby - just 30 km away.
It's really a natural phenomenon and you can see the beginning of process also.
A nice walk through the forest, around 300 meters awa from the parking area.

So first of all the site itself is very nice. There is a pleasant walk through the forest and as I went in October, all of the trees were changing colour. There is then a steep but brief climb up a staircase. This part is not wheelchair friendly even for one's that would cope with the forest floor. You then have views of the stacks on a ridge. They are smaller and less frequent than i had imagined but still very cool! They don't seem like they should be real!

But I had issues getting there without a car. I got a bus from Belgrade to Nis and stayed there. I then got a bus to Kursumlija, which takes over an hour and a half each way, before getting a taxi. The taxi took me there and back and stayed the hour and a bit it took me to walk around, which cost 25 euros. So it was a lot of hassle to get there for about an hour at the site! I'm still glad I went but it would have been much easier in a car or cheaper in a group.

Dear RBrog,
We're really pleased that you enjoyed your tour trough Devil's Town.
We are aware of problem of the problem that visitors with mobility difficulties have, but our site is under protection of Institute of Nature Protection and every change we make at the site must be approved by them.
You're absolutely right, it's much easier to travel to Devil's Town with some agency or as guest of Prolom Banja (we regularly organize tours for our guests in Hotel Radan Prolom Banja).
