The waves, sand and scenery are all fantastic at Hapuna Beach. The wave size is almost perfect for body surfing or in the case of my kids (8, 10 and 15) for boogie boarding.

We didn't leave enough time to thoroughly explore this beach. Next time I would plan to spend the day. It had beach volley ball, snorkeling off to the left, pleasant waves to swim in, a nice sandy bottom, no rocks or sea urchins, showers and food trucks. Great place to watch the sunset.

This was one of the best beached we visited on the island. The sand was soft, the water calm, the ocean life was plentiful, and the facilitates was clean.

We were hoping to go somewhere with the traditional white sands beach while in Hawaii, and Hapuna beach met every expectation and then some. The half mile stretch of beach is picturesque with the bright white sand and the turquoise blue water. There are lifeguards on duty and a food vendor (cash only) at the top of the resort. While out we also went snorkeling near some of the rocks and ended up snorkeling with fishes and even some sea turtles!
Highly recommended for all vacationers.
