“magic in the valley peace, scenery, places to eat or go or just stay in the cottage and do it all yourself”
Reviewed September 17, 2018 for a stay in August 2018

This is the story of the prodigal sock.

it went missing it liked it so much the log fire to keep warm the cosy beds and the well appointed kitchen with induction cook top, oven, dishwasher, microwave(if you must!!!) and toaster.
cupboards stocked with quality cookware and utensils etc.
bath sooo deep and long, separate solo shower.

So newly renovated that seemed like penthouse hotel accommodation.

Surrounding areas to walk in any direction even down to the swan river.
eateries in every direction for every occasion. even a totally gluten free cafe for coeliacs or gluten intolerant.

Now can you see why I didn't want to be found????

but now I decided to be found so with the hope I can go back to paradise in the valley for the spring....

working on it and will so go back again and again.

thoroughly recommend you take the time to go.

The Sock
ciao

Fantastic you were able to chill, good to know the wayward sock finally found its partner. Pairs of socks with caring owners welcome any time at Baudin's Cottage!

“Perfect, relaxing home away from home”
Reviewed May 11, 2018 for a stay in May 2018

Had a great stay in the first week of May, the beautifully furnished cottage is super cosy and bed was really comfortable. Especially loved the luxurious bath. Great location right on the Swan river with vineyards on either side. Paula could not have been more helpful and the cottage had an array of booklets showing activities to do. Loved my escape from the city with its calm, tranquil and beautiful scenery and would recommend this cottage to family and friends alike.

“Relaxing Stay in the Vineyards”
Reviewed August 29, 2017 for a stay in August 2017

We had a wonderful stay at Baudin's Cottage. It was well set up and luxuriously furnished. The bed was so comfortable and the roaring fire makes for a cosy evening and take out the chill of a winter's night. Such a special place to sit on the deck watching the sunset over the vines and sipping wine from the local winery.

Paula is a wonderful hostess and provided us with lots of information about the local attractions. Can't wait to visit again.

“Beautiful property, accommodating hosts”
Reviewed April 4, 2016 for a stay in November 2015

Had a lovely 9-day stay with my parents and 3 year old child. Great base to explore the Swan Valley, and Perth surrounds. Location was perfect for a rural escape from city life, but there was wifi so we were always connected. Airconditioning in the blazing summer heat worked great. Hosts were responsive, friendly and even had suitable children's DVDs for my daughter!

“Peaceful retreat in the heart of the vineyards”
Reviewed October 6, 2015 for a stay in October 2015

Stayed here with my 3 children, two teen boys and younger girl and had a wonderful peaceful escape from the madness of everyday life. We all enjoyed the tranquility of the environment set in the heart of the vineyards, seemingly away from everything yet in reality very close to all kinds of amenities and interesting places to visit. It was great to have lazy mornings waking only to the sound of the wildlife, then be able to wander around down to the river and see the chickens, horses and dogs. We could sit out on the deck, read, chat and enjoy a glass or two of the locally made wine (well I did, not my children!). The cottage itself is cosy and comfortable with a bed that I certainly didn't want to get out of. Five stars to the hostess Paula too who did everything she could to ensure we enjoyed our stay. Thank you. Look forward to a return visit.

“Stunning location, relaxing experience, fabulous hosts”
Reviewed September 17, 2015 for a stay in September 2015

We stayed at Baudin's cottage for three days. It is so relaxing. The sound of birds, unique to the area, woke us in the mornings. The views of neighbouring vineyards can be seen from all the windows. There are numerous places close by for excellent coffee, breakfasts, lunch and wine and lovely places to walk. The cottage itself is beautifully furnished and comfortable. We highly recommend it. Thank you Paula for all your help and recommendations. It was like staying with old friends.

“Excellent views, well equipped and thoughtful host”
Reviewed May 20, 2015 for a stay in May 2015

We found this place as we explore a cottage stay with opportunity to interact with animals for our toddler. There are horses, chicken, dogs and a cat, all of whic are very friendly. We arrived earlier than the initial check in time and Paula, the host kindly let us in to start the stay.We had everything we need in the cottage, with a very well equipped kitchen, the nespresso machine is a bonus. We are delighted to find a high chair with 2 children book prepared for our toddler, and some discount coupons for our visit to nearby attractions, which is another added bonus to us. As we are travelling with a toddler, Paula allowed us to use the washing machine for our laundry, as well as a heater for our room, as it does get a bit cold in the night. We are also allowed to pass through the owner's house to explore the surroundings and to play with the animals. Our toddler especially enjoyed the close interaction with the dogs and horses. The walk along Swan River behind the cottage is excellent, especially in the morning. We had lunch at the nearby Swan Valley Vegetarian cafe and nursery (the cake is a must-try) on the first day, and Black Swan restaurant (the duck leg confeti is a must) the second day. Both are excellent, and we would definitely recommend a visit.
The cottage is accessible and not too far from other attractions in Swan valley like Caversham wildlife park. We woke up to birds chirping, cool air with beautiful view of the sun shining on the vineyards, smell of fresh coffee (brewed with nespresso machine) and toast, had lovely lunch nearby, home-cooked dinner at the cottage, with warmth from a wood-lit fireplace, and finally the peaceful star gazing nights before bed. We love it so much! This is a perfect place to stay if you are looking at escaping the busy city life, as well as exploring Swan Valley at the same time.
We would like to thank Paula for her hospitality during our stay there, making us feel at home, with the personal touch that we would not receive from staying in a hotel. Would definitely visit again!
