This 'German' themed restaurant/bar is nestled in the peaceful Swan Valley and is a great place to relax and enjoy a quite drink with friends. I enjoyed it, but felt it overpriced for the quality of food, low level of service, and reluctance of staff to accept anything but cash (credit cards appeared to be a real hassle for them). The location would have relatively low overheads, but that is not evident in the food menu.
You can eat inside our outside.
Inside is quite well furnished and has a broader menu. It would be best to eat inside on hot summer days or when very wet or cold during winter.
The outside beer garden has a very basic 'German' menu that compliments the German beers and theme. It is a brilliant location for a nice spring or autumn day. The boutique German beers were good, and reasonably priced at about $10 CASH only per pint. Our table of 4 couples all found the food very overpriced for the quality. My wife and I had a large share plate which comprised about 5 different types of German sausage, of all things corn chips, a few shriveled pieces of lettuce, cheese cubes, and a basic pork dip. It cost $34 and I would not recommend it. All four couples liked the beer and wine, but thought the food wasn't value for money. If we return we agreed that we would order the most basic food available so we could still enjoy the great surroundings, beer and wine on another beautiful spring day.
