“Wonderful Museum”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 12, 2012

It is a gem of a museum. A truly enjoyable and worthwhile experience. The museum has a faciinating collection of exhibits about the maritime history of this port. The exhibits about shipbuilding in the age of sail were very well presented and showed how ships were built and the tools used to build them. The front side of the newer exhibit builing is a scaled down replica of the hull of a tall ship built at Port Greville in its hey-day. The facade is unique. The other exhibit building is a very old structure with its own interesting history. The Guide was extremely knowledgable and personable. Her commentary about the exhibits was a real plus.

After viewing the exhibits we had tea & coffee in their small tea shop overlooking the tidal inlet. The facility is clean and very well kept. Friends recommended that we not miss this museum. We pass that recommendation along.

“Lovely Museum”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 9, 2012 via mobile

I visited the museum on a cold, blustery afternoon while staying at Advocate Harbour. My friends and I just stumbled upon it by chance. What a lucky find! It has significant information of the maritime industry of the region. Some of my favorite exhibitions of the museum included the Mary Celeste, Titanic and the Royals, but my favorite had to be about the life of a wife in Nova Scotia around a 100 years ago. Truly amazing story of the sturdiness of the people who settled the land. I highly recommend this museum!

“Looks insignificant but full of unique and interesting.”

I really appreciate the fact that the museum keeps improving on what they have . The guide is very knowledgeable and is from the area so knows the history and community of that day and brings it back to life. It really tells what it was like to live in the" age of sale". Definitely worth the stop.
