Went there on Friday 6th July. Happened to be Bhairavashtami. The anisjekams at the Bairavar Sannidhi were a great to watch and revere.
The main deities are Lord Vaidyanathaswqmy and Ambal Sivakami. Both these Sannidhi are places offering clear darshan of the deities and the performance of the Archana’s are very methodical and no commercial expectations. Came out of the temple feeling peaceful.

This is ancient Siva temple in Srivilliputhur. Though Srivilliputhur is very famous for Andal temple which is dedicated to Lord Vishnu; this Siva temple is equally popular and powerful in Srivilliputhur area. It is in the sub-urb of Srivilliputhur and very old temple with quiet ambience. If you are visiting Srivilliputhur, then please do visit Madvar Valagam Siva temple as well.

Nice temple, walkable distance from andal temple. Not many shops nearby. Only local town buses will stop at this point or else you can prefer diesel share auto. Temple has Shiva, Amman, Vinayagar and Murugar. Nearby theerthams were empty during my visit.
