I have stayed at Fanhams on a number of occasions over the years as they are a preferred supplier for my employer. The hotel can be very hit and miss. I have had great stay's here and others where it has been like a scene from Fawlty Towers. One room is spacious and well decorated and another where the wardrobe door can't be opened or closed due to the small area and the shower that only works if you hold it no more than 5 feet from the floor.

Have been staying at Fanhams for about a month now and find the venue spectacular. The main building and grounds are stunning - even in the snow & ice!. The hotel rooms are well decorated and pleasantly furnished although they are in the main not very big. Suitable for an overnight stop but for a prolonged period you have to specifically ask for the larger rooms. Breakfast is very good and all freshly cooked so no nasty warmed up bacon here! Staff are exceptionally helpful.

Would highly recommend.

Room Tip: Book early and clearly state that you require one of the larger rooms.

We got married at Fanhams Hall on the 1st December 2012.

The beautiful grounds and period interior made the perfect background to our wedding and helped make the day perfect!

The staff were excellent and the food lived up to the high expectations that were set during the tasting. We'd like to give particular praise to Richard and Sonya who were our Functional Managers on the day and Louisa the events coordinator. It was the first event for Sonya and she did an excellent job; she was extremely professional throughout the day. In fact all the staff were very proactive and did not require any instruction from us.

I would not hesitate to recommend this venue for a wedding.

We had our wedding mid December 2012. Our wedding function manager was Tim Harrison who was exceptional. The event, reception and general staff of the hotel were great and always happy to help, but Tim needs a mention.

His professionalism and attention to detail was second to none and nothing was too much trouble. He was there when I needed him and we couldn’t have wished for a more thorough Function Manager. Anything I wasn't sure about, he had a solution.

I would certainly have an event with Tim looking after us again, either personal or a work awayday/event.

I look forward to returning to Fanhams for our anniversary.

Room Tip: We only had the honeymoon suite so didn't get to use any other room, but I'd recommend any b...

Having stayed at Hanbury Manor before we wondered how this hotel fared as it was half the cost, the answer is very well.
Friendly staff, lovely breakfast, excellent bar area and charming gardens maintained by a very friendly older gentleman who explained the history and wildlife of the gardens, very enchanting..
Dinner at the Sow & Pigs pub up the road - excellent.

Room Tip: go for refurbished one

Just to let you know we had a FANTASTIC time. Many thanks to all the team at Fanhams that made Mum's 70th birthday so special!!!! We enjoyed private dining in The Oak room for our party of 22, which was festively decorated and snuggly warm. The room was big enough so the kids could run around and not disturb any other diners too. We had music played into the room too which was a lovely touch. Our fussy eater requirements were catered for perfectly, from Gluten Wheat free to No butter ham only. Our pregnant guest was put at ease by the Pastry Chef too so she could enjoy all the creamy cakes! Thanks again.

A venue fit for a princess that offers superior quality food and service in a picturesque (both inside and out) location. We look forward to returning for no reason in particular…
Minor material improvements could be made (‘Chestnut’ bridal suite bathroom not as amazing as the rest of the room) but this is picky to a grand historic building that has given us memories for years to come and staff who were accommodating, professional, helpful and friendly.
