I heard about this beach for ages so finally decided to check it out. Pulled up to the main entrance to the provincial park and bought my day pass. Had to turn around and drive to the beach area because the 2 areas aren’t connected. I headed to parking area 5 and gathered all my stuff. If you’re planning on going be warned that you have quite a hike ahead of you so a wagon to carry all your beach gear is a good idea. Leave the parking area and head towards the water and turn right. Now you have a good 20-30 minute walk ahead of you. Once you see the sign showing the end of the park boundary then you’re getting close. Bring bug spray with you because the day l was there the sand flies were terrible. Find a nice secluded spot among the driftwood and prepare to enjoy nature the best way, no clothes on.

Port Burwell is a perfect little campground with three sections. Family oriented park with friendly staff and plenty of wildlife to view from your own site to a walk in the trails. The park beach is great for all including furry friends with an on and off leash section for themselves. Most sites are adequately setup and level however there is a few that can make for a adventure trying to keep from rolling on one side of the tent!! Large play ground, play field and the park staff host special events that take place at the amphitheatre or at least usually start with the meetup there. Always a fun time.

Stayed on a Thursday/Friday night, really enjoyed it, the washrooms are extremely cleaned and well maintained, the park staff were very friendly and helpful, basic amentities, ice and firewood were reasonably priced. Went into town and did the submarine tour, highly recommend it, went to the beach, parking area 5, walked to the beach and went right and walked for about 20 minutes, lots of driftwood but a pleaasing ambiance.

We stayed only 1night at Iroquois section of the campground. Our site was small but very private. The bathrooms were close and very clean. We did some of the hiking trail which was nice and played at the park by the recreation field. All in all, it was a great spot to camp. The only bummer (no fault of the park of course) was we could not swim in the lake since there was a swim advisory. We will definitely return!
