We were very impressed with Port Burwell Provincial Park. Campsite was large, flat, private, and very clean. Washrooms were very new and the cleanest I have seen in my camping history! Very close to town and beaches on Lake Erie. Campsite was very quiet at night - lots of families. Very dog-friendly too. Highly recommended!

The is the worst place to camp ever!! Park police are very harassing. They should be fired! Harrassed us since the minute we arrived and we were not causing any problems at all. DO NOT GO HERE unless your a quiet family who doesn't like to talk

Port Burwell is one of the better Ontario provincial parks for this region.

We stayed in the Leander section of the campground. The sites were large and quite private (well treed and a decent distance from your neighbours).

The facilities were updated and well kept. It was a nice touch that the showers are not in the the men's/women's washrooms but rather each shower is individual and shared by all. This meant less wait times (very nice!)

The beach was a bit far to walk to with small children though there is a trail from the campground down to the beach. We opted to drive down. There is ample parking at the beach. It is an un-groomed beach meaning there is sticks, shells and debris near the shoreline but after about 1.5m of debris the sand is clean and nice. The water is shallow for a quite awhile which makes it ideal for our little kids.

There is a large playground area that was enjoyed for hours by our family.

My only complaint about Port Burwell Provincial Park would be the condition of our site when we arrived. There was a lot of garbage all over the site. We spent nearly 45 minutes picking up garbage.

Stayed over the weekend at this park. On the positive side, the sites are for the most part large fairly private and well shaded. We were in the alzores campground, seems to me the sites are smaller and more packed in on the other campgrounds. Very kid friendly park with play area, large open area and alot of the camp roads are paved. The dog beach has an off leash area which I've never seen at any other park. On the Downside, primarily the beach is nowhere near the campground, not really accessible other than by car, unless your an advanced mountain biker or enjoy being eaten by insects on the long trek down. (3/4 mile) Once you get to the beach your probably looking at another 300-400 yd walk to the water. The campground seemed very noisy, I believe the cause of that would be this park is a gathering place for groups of people who know each other. So even though your not in a group camping section, in effect you are. I would say this park is a cross between a provincial park and a KOA or Jellystone type of park. Great if your from the local area and camping with a group of your friends, not so much if your after a quiter more back to nature type camping experience. A Good but not great park.

The sites here are amazing. The staff is friendly and very efficient! The washrooms are always clean and well stocked. Most of the sites are shady with some sunny spot. The playground equipment is good and very accessible for children.
The beach is nice but hard to get to if you have difficulty walking.
