Amazing staff, amazing views, great sightings, perfection

Tuli has truly become a second home for us in Africa. It is a short 4 hour road transfer from Johannesburg and offers a 100% better experience than Kruger. Gone are the fences and other concessions safari vehicles and it is replaced by a comfortable, stress free safari. Our Guide and tracker are the best in the business and are the best at Tuli. Of course we are biased here but we will be requesting them every visit. Our Guide Thato and our Tracker Pontsho are amazing. I highly recommend their partnership when you visit Tuli. They not only work very well together, you can tell they are willing to take any steps to get you to see what you need.
The rooms are not really rooms as they are homes. They are massive tents on elevated concrete slabs. Even in the hottest weather they are a great escape. Last visit in 2019 we spent 5 nights, this time we spent 6. It will be really hard not to extend next time.
Food is great, new chef and the twins prepare great meals, and the service is top notch.
Love this place. Cant say enough positive comments. It is not your typical canned south african safari. Its truly wild and open.

You must see for yourself. When you are planning your trip....make sure to ask about the photo hide. Worth every penny!
Date of stay: November 2021
Room Tip: We have stayed in Room #1 and Room #9 Both awesome. #9 is a bit more wild so pick that one.

We had a very relaxed and enjoyable time at Tuli Safari Lodge, Mashatu, Tuli Block.
Every member of the lodge went out of their way, to help and serve us. Impeccable rooms - clean and well appointed.
Please do get an RO Filter for the drinking water as the high salt content makes the water taste awful. Thank you dear guides - Simion and Montsho. We enjoyed the game drives.

Thank you so much for this valuable feedback. We do have filtered water provided in the rooms and in communal areas, but we will look into this.

We really appreciate your support and are glad to hear you loved your stay with us.

Everything about Tuli is magical, from the spectacular landscape to the accommodations and staff. The wildlife are truly abundant; on this, our 8th visit; we saw 11 leopards, plus lions, cheetahs and over 40 other kinds of wildlife. The Tuli management and staff go way out of their way to accommodate special interests and make the experience unforgettable. You can pay a lot more at other lodges but you won't find a better safari experience than at Tuli.

Room tip: guests stay in stand-alone chalets; every one is exceptional

This, was our 8th visit to Tuli , now Mashatu Tuli Lodge. To be back with our friends after a tough year and a half was beyond wonderful. The Botswana bush here is set among incredible rock formations , giant Baobab trees and flat grasslands all filled with Giraffe,Lion, Leopard, Hyena,Elephant and more. Our super intelligent and friendly guides, Simon and Chris gave us five thrilling days. The on site team of Monty and Hildah oversee a remarkable staff that constantly are there to provide you with the upmost care. And final special, special thanks to Wendy and François who are the general managers of both camps and dear friends that are so kind. Visit Tuli, eat in the bush, listen to the Tuli choir , enjoy the service and gain remarkable knowledge of all Botswana has to offer. There is no place like Tuli

I can hardly describe how impressed I am with Mashatu!! I have met the owners and they were very friendly and passionate about conservation.
Monty has been the most amazing guide I have met at Mashatu ! What a wealth of knowledge and what a kind personality he has. Then of course Lobs was also very nice and all of them have taken so much good care of me. The hide experience was amazing and Albray also is a very knowledgeable warmhearted photographic guide. The horse riding experience was awesome. The border crossing from South Africa to Botswana by car was without problem. Just make sure to have your PCR Test and car papers with you. The testing also was smooth at that beautiful LVA airstrip and the person who did it was the most gentle person of all the PCR testers I have met so far. The mountain biking was exceptional and both guides Moussa and Pontsho are very sweet and professional people. The manageress of the operation, Lindy, showed me the treehouse, that is used for scheduled tours of riders or mountain bikers and I found it very nice. You will not find a game reserve of such a big size with so few lodges on it and such amazing wildlife and scenery. It is exceptional!
