Just returned from a most enjoyable week at the Kempinski hotel which we found most relaxing and luxurious. The lobby is breathtaking with it's fine decor and grandure. We were upgraded at check-in to a delux pool view room which was a great surprise.
The room itself was comfortable but the bathroom could do with a bit of updating and the sofa bed was covered in stains and was worn at the edges. The tap water is drinkable throughout the hotel. The heated indoor pool and jacuzzi were most welcoming after a days sight-seeing and was never crowded so we could totally relax.
We ate in the L'Ortolan restaurant every morning for a buffet breakfast which had everything you could imagine and catered for all different tastes, the food was fantastic, but beware it is expensive in the evenings, we had a buffet meal on the first night which cost 93 euros including a bottle of wine, ok if you're big eaters!!! Restaurant bills in Gozo averaged around 55 euros for 3 courses and a bottle of wine. Also the bars are expensive 6 euros a pint of lager and small glass of Coke 2.50 euros. Outside the hotel lager was 2.50 euros a pint.
Overall a lovely hotel and would return again.

Set in the middle of the countryside, this really is a superb hotel.

The feeling of quality hits you as you step through the main doors - the lobby is very impressive.

We had a suite which was beautifully appointed with a nice view over the three pools and the gardens.

There are three restaurants at the hotel. The "Gazebo" served al fresco lunches near the pools in a very informal but lovely setting with plenty of shade. For dinner there was a choice of two restaurants: the more formal "L'Ortolan" offering truly superb Mediterranean cuisine either indoor or on two terraces overlooking the pools and gardens and the slightly less formal "Trattoria" serving equally impressive Italian cuisine, again either indoors or on two terraced levels overlooking the pools and gardens. The quality of food served in both were of a very high standard and very well presented. Breakfast each morning was at "L'Ortolan".

The staff could not have been more friendly or more helpful. The service at this hotel is exceptionally good and we felt very well looked after!

We intended to use the spa but the hot weather could not tear us away from the poolside. It looked very good.

Go here if you want a peaceful "away from it all" holiday in beautiful surroundings with quality accommodation and great food.

We stayed here on our honeymoon on a day trip to Gozo so we would have the full day to explore the island and couldn't have been happier! The hotel is a bit in the middle of nowhere (although very close to the craft fair area in Gozo) but is completely perfect if you're interested in a secluded area where you can just rest, relax, and enjoy the natural beauty around you! We were in a deluxe junior suite and were SO happy! The room was huge with an extremely comfortable bed, a giant, spotless, modern bathroom with a stand up glass shower and a separate jetted tub and even included super comfy slippers and robes! Our room had a huge wrap around balcony with a full set of furniture and gorgeous views of the landscape of Gozo. The hotel has several outdoor pools and one indoor with a jacuzzi. We spent our time in the indoor pool which was awesome and so relaxing. They also have spa options which unfortunately we didn't get a chance to try. They offer a free shuttle service to the capital which is super convenient. The included breakfast buffet in the morning was amazing! There was everything you could possibly want, from a full English breakfast with an omelette station to a large selection of cheese and meats with tons of fresh fruit and a variety of pastries. It was absolutely delicious and the service was impeccable. Overall we were INSANELY impressed and only wish we could have stayed longer!!!

Room Tip: Splurge on a suite for an amazing balcony!

Visiting Gozo for a weekend from the mainland Malta has always been a relaxing getaway but at this resort, relaxation takes a whole new meaning. We've been hooked on tsp experience for 5 years now. Gozo truly lives up to it's name as the place where time stood still. I suggest June to avoid the July/August crowds and the stifling heat of Malta's peak summer season. The only negative thing about Gozo and in particular this resort are the flies which can be really annoying.

We have been traveling for the first white our 2,5year old sun to the Kempinski Hotel San Lawrenz, where we will certainly go back and can recommend to anyone. We enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere, the friendliness of all staf, the spacious room where a cute amenity was prepared upon arrival for our son(it really made his day,but as well his parents),the services offered to Kids&Adults, good food (there´s even a Kids Menu)etc. Our son loved to play in the Kid's Club and we were happy to relax at the same time at the Spa,which is to be honest the most amaizing Spa we have ever visited. The garden area whit the three outdoor pools are just amazing and the kids pool which was very convenient for our son.But what makes this hotel even more special is the employees,as everyone was at any time very helpful, friendly and not to forget always white a smile on their face.We enjoyed our vacation so much, were sad to leave back home, but will definitely plan soon another stay with grands-parents and other friends. Thanks to everyone, you really exceeded our expectation.

This is one of the best 5star hotels we have stayed in, and the first where the food is absolutely the best. We both thought this standard of food was only found in the top resteraunts, it was pure gastronomic pleasure, everything cooked to perfection. Would recommend going half board, as there is no need to eat elsewhere. We have only been to one other place that has been as clean, Oman. There is hardly any rubbish, streets are so clean, makes England look like a rubbish tip. This hotel can truly claim its 5 star status, apart from one small item, my wife suggests, bring your own hair dryier. That apart, about as near perfect as it gets. Can't sing there praises enough, would highly recommend!!!!

Room Tip: Try and get premium room, and go for half board.

Beautiful building and facilities in this hotel were great, as expected for a 5 star. The 3 day stay however was mainly ruined by the staff and how incompetent they were.
On check in we were showed to our room by the receptionist. He advised there were 2 restaurants which sometimes 1 is closed during the week. When i asked which restaurant was open that evening he did not know which was pretty appalling as this was 4pm.
We called to reception a little later to ask for recommendations for a restaurant close by. Another receptionist could not recommend anywhere, she finally named 2 places but did not know here the were. When we asked her to look them up on Google maps she did not know how to use Google maps so we ended up just leaving the hotel and finding a place ourselves.
The following day we had a wedding to attend. We called for an iron to be dropped to our room, after waiting 20mins and calling reception twice, we ended up going down and getting it ourselves.
We spent most of our time in another resort where we had friends staying in and absolutely regretted not booking there instead
