Before I start I should say this is in itself a nice villa. 3 good sized bedrooms with 8 beds, Wonderful large sitting room, well equiped kitchen, 4 bathrooms, plenty of parking available and an enjoyable pool. However, there are some bad points. First I should mention the farm next door (literally) with the cockerels! Whilst we accepted that as part of living in the country, others should be aware they crow from daybreak to sunset, taking no account of sleeping holiday makers! When they take a break, the ducks take over. The benefit was the fantastically fresh hen and duck eggs available free! Other not so acceptable bad points was the bathroom upstairs that actually had a leak from the bath itself and therefore unusable, and a leak in the roof where green algae had stained the walls! Duct tape round the waste pipe of the lavatory also did not inspire confidence! With 3 other bathrooms available we didn't use the room. I confess I told the person who looks after the villa we could do without as we were only 3 people! Air conditioning in the bedrooms was installed but we didn't use it as we thought the 7 euros per room per day excessive. We probably should have as it was very hot, especially in the master bedroom. The lack of a maid service throughout our stay was just about acceptable, though it meant we had to do what we do at home, which was not the idea! Maybe if there had been some sort of servicing then the light bulbs would have been replaced. I would estimate about 20% were not working, which made the sitting room very dark. However, the biggest problem for us was the house electrics which kept tripping. Not just during the day, but at 1.0 or 2.0 in the morning. So nothing we were doing! We were asleep and adding nothing to the electrics. But off they would go, which meant the fans in the room would stop and we would wake up with the heat. We would have to go downstairs in the dark, and flick the switch to bring everything back on. We did inform the handyman, but he claimed not to have got any of my texts. Odd other people were! Would I recommend this villa? No, but with a bit of care and attention, and yes a bit of money spent on it, I would. It could be wonderful.
