We stayed at the Il Girna Guest house, literally around the corner from the Ta'Cenc hotel & Spa. On our wedding anniversary we did the magnificent Ta'Cenc cliff walk. The walk is not marked, but we recorded our walk with EveryTrail for iPhone. You can follow the route and see pics at: http://www.everytrail.com/view_trip.php?trip_id=1329841.

If you stand in front of the Ta'Cenc hotel, take the road that passes to the left of the hotel towards the ocean. Keep walking, but veer to your right at the second footpath. This will take you to some of the most amazing cliff views. We walked for about 2 hours - very easy pace, stopping for lots of photos. There are no picnic facilities or bathrooms, so take your own water and visit a loo before you start your walk. This was definitely a highlight of our Gozo visit. In the evening we booked a 5 course meal at the Ta'Cenc hotel & spa's restaurant. The food/wine was top notch and the waiters professional and friendly.

An impressive cross between the White Cliffs of Dover and the Cliffs of Moher. Only with blue sky and no tourists.....

If you follow the signs to Ta Cenc Hotel, you can get to the Ta Cenc Plateau. It is an amazing place to walk with fabulous views. In the winder and spring it is full of beautiful flowers. It is also very interesting for its archaeology. We followed the walk outlined in the book Archaeological walks in Gozo and saw a number of really interesting sites. These included the Dolmen, some cart ruts next to the cliffs. The cart ruts are fascinating; there is a Russian geologists who thinks they were made when there was a catastrophe on Gozo and people had to move all their goods on sledges to lower ground (see www.cartruts.ru) and the cliffs are stunning. We also looked at the Ta l'Imramma temple which is motly scattered blocks but in a wonderful place. The views to the valley to the south and to the sea are wonderful
