Awesome food and incredibly nice atmosphere! I recommend the grilled duck - the best I ever ate. Tuna was delicious too. The owner is very pleasant person.

Not often with 5 diners you get a meal where everyone was totally impressed with all courses, there's always some little thing not quite right. But this night was actually perfect. The restaurant was busy, but they seemed to manage to pay attention to detail for all the diners. The lamb/beef pasta starter , and the roasted aubergine and garlic soup were exceptional... the stone bass and lamb mains too. We were treated to 2 delicious free appetisers, a delicious sundried tomato and aubergine dip and some slow cooked octopus.... really nice to try something I would not have ordered. It was our most expensive meal of our holiday , but given that it was a good two/three notches up from anything else we had had we didn't grudge a cent, and it wasn't THAT much more expensive than other places...well worth pay the extra :)

This is the third year we have visited Tmun and it just seems to get better and better with consistent quality of both food and service. The owner is hands-on and I think this probably is the magic ingredient to it's success. The food is amazing and we ate there for 5 out of the 10 nights we were there (and that was because they are closed on Tuesday's and the other nights we hadn't booked). To ensure a table in the outside area, you do have to make a reservation as it is very popular and they often have to turn people away.

We will be emailing with a block booking prior to our annual visit next year!

It-Tmun is a charming family run restaurant located in the bustling harbour of Mgarr on Malta's sister island of Gozo. It's unassuming location, tucked back away from the marina road just a stones throw from the boats add to its Gozitan charm.

It is run by husband and wife team Leli & Jane, who have truly captured the essence of the Mediterranean in their cusine with modern twists on classic dishes. The menu does change, which is a rareity compared to a lot of the other restaurants on the island. This is often dictated by whatever the farmers or fisherman deliver that day. When I was eating there last, two huge swordfish arrived fresh off the boat!

You will want to order everything off the menu. The quality of food and presentation is sublime. And if you want to tweak a dish, they will bend over backwards to accommodate you. I highly recommend the Fettucine Gamberoni e Zucchini. They even cater for Gluten & Lactose free diets.

My parents and I are big foodies. Whilst they live on Gozo, I have visited every year for the last 30 years and we have eaten at every restaurant on the island. It-Tmun is hands down our top pick.

too bad we were too full for desserts
everything on the menu looked delicious. we settled for a fish platter, the famous fish soup made as a main and calamari
it spoiled us for the rest of the trip in gozo as it set the bar so high.
thoroughly enjoyed our meal
