“You must go here if on Gozo”
Reviewed January 16, 2014

Having visited Gozo on many occasions my wife and I have eaten in numerous restaurants some good some not so good. So when a friend sugested we try Tmun we went with an open mind and an empty tummy!
Tucked away on the harbour front at Mgarr, the restaurant sits discreetly a midst the small boats and can be easily missed so take care when looking.
Inside the restaurant is clean comfortable and if you wish the rear of the dining area allows you to observe the Chef at work. Service is excellent the are staff knowledgeable, discreet and you feel as if they do care about your enjoyment.
The food is stunning presentation and taste first class it is obvious that there is some real culinary talent in the kitchen. A comprehensive and extensive wine list completes what has to be one of the best places to dine on Gozo.

“Superb experience!”
Reviewed January 8, 2014

We went to try this restaurant at our last visit to Gozo, in December 2013. We booked a table inside but the manager or whoever he is that opened the zip of the tent like plastic told us that we will have to wait for some time. So we sat on another table of 6 and then we changed places afterwards. The place is very small and it was crowded. We were a little bit squashed but nothing uncomfortable. We had a fillet and a swordfish, and they were both cooked to perfection. It was seriously the best fish that I had ever tasted. The guy who took the order forgot to order a bowl of french fries but that was sorted quickly. The staff were not extremely attentive but good enough. The price was not as expensive as I thought it would be. The bill for a couple for two main courses, a bottle of wine and 2 alcoholic beverages totaled to around €70. Which was quite reasonable.

“Perfection”
Reviewed January 5, 2014

If you want to taste passion and dedication in the food your eating, this place is a must. I can't compliment the chef enough for his amazing work, truly an artist. Service is also top notch and you are well taken care of. Although the restaurant was very busy when we where there on the 05/01/14 it did not take long at all for the food to arrive. We were given a complimentary taster as well as a basket of bread and a small bowl of homemade tomato based paste (which was divine!) while we waited. The food? Well what can I say... If Michelangelo's art was expressed through food, then this is were he must have been cooking. And this also extends to the variety of desserts prepared and baked in-house. A truly fantastic, definitely memorable and properly delicious dining experience from start to finish! Highly recommend!

“BEST fish EVER!”
Reviewed December 30, 2013

No visit to Gozo is complete without a visit here. You just have to go; and once you have you'll be back... Family run and the passion shows; boss Leli will give you his personal daily recommendation for the daily catch that you must try; it's probably only a few hours out of water so will taste like you've never tasted FRESH fish before. Oh you'd like it filleted too? - watch the master at work at your table... the "Dentsi" (a local flat white fish) tasted so flavoursome and fleshy... or pick anything from the crafted menu it's all delicious... + the usual array of fine wine at stupid rates(!) - owner's son Chef Paul creates miracles with mama helping out in the back kitchen on view to all with professional waitress service all round so you're always looked after. You can tell by the clientele visitors are retuning locals and foreigners afar; a sure sign of quality and success... and check out the cool interior... juts brilliant - I don't want to go home...
