This is the upmarket restaurant at the Radisson resort. The room is pleasant and spacious. Food was tasty and well presented with nice touches such as warm rolls and a delightful amuse bouche. In general we found that portion sizes in Malta tended to be too large so we were pleased that this restaurant put quality above quantity and served sensible portions that left you satisfied but not bloated.

Fine dinning at it's best for us. We always expect to wait a little bit longer for the food in Essence as it is prepared from scratch. It is always worth waiting for as we are not in a hurry when going out for a relaxing meal and we have never been disappointed. If you are looking for fast food I would suggest you find somewhere like Mc Donald's on the other side of the Island.

up market restaurant with all the visual swagger of a fine dining was a great dissapointment.
The restaurant had only two other diners in when we arrived, never a good sign! we were offered a taster of pheasant ravioli which was a small square on a very large plate the enormity of the plate ensured that this was cold,as the plate was not warmed.
The pasta was a little soggy and the contents unseasoned.
my wife ordered the halibut and I went for the sirloin steak.
The food came beautifully presented although very sparce.
my steak was not mature enough and a little chewy. and was totally ruined by a very bitter sauce that really was not to my liking.
my wifes hallibut was approx 3" square again unseasoned but cooked ok with some fennel and some black olive puree come jus,
artistically smeared on the plate.the hallibut came placed on some
oyster mushrooms that were oily soggy and cold we did not order desert just in case. service was excellent chef needs to be tasting more and less concerned with presentation.

First class cuisine and service to match. This is the fine dining part of this large Hotel Complex. You wont be disapponited but expect to pay.
