What can I say - yet another brilliant visit to Pergola. Staff as usual very warm and welcoming - it was like going back to visit old friends. For anyone travelling to Mellieha for the first time be sure to check out the Cave Bar at Pergola

Room Tip: If possible a room with sea view which we were lucky enough to get this visit but all rooms are goo...

The Pergola club hotel is first class, we've stayed many times and look forward to returning twice in 2014. All of the staff are very helpful and nothing is to much for them to ensure your holiday goes to plan, they go the extra mile and it's good being on first name basis, makes it a much friendlier place to be.
I've used the spa for treatments, and they were all worth it, the reflexology particularly.
The restaurants and theme nights go down very well. The BBQ by the pool is fab! Da Ciccio offers an amazing menu with perfect food every time - I know this as I have eaten there and on the bridge where the restaurant goes outdoors.
There are 3 pools, 2 outdoor and 1 indoor (near spa) and are lovely and cool when the weather is scorching hot.
I look forward to returning next year.

In September my niece got married in Malta and a party of relatives and friends stayed at the Pergola hotel. The whole experience was excellent. The staff across the board could not have been more helpful and went out of their way to make the week a huge success.

We stayed on a half board basis and the buffet dinners in the main restaurant were superb. The choice was wide and the quality of the food, especially a pork dish that I had, was first class.

The lifts are an interesting experience, as the hotel is built on a hill, and whilst one lift goes from 0 (first floor) down (?) to 3, others go to 4 and even 7.

With two completely separate outside pools and an inside pool as well there was always enough room for relaxation and the, sometimes seen, morning race to put towels on loungers, was not needed here.

The beach is over 1 mile away from the hotel, down a steep hill, but there are regular buses and a day ticket is not expensive. Hiring a car alleviates this and also opens up the chance of viewing more of a beautiful island.

We will certainly return.

Room Tip: Avoid a room number with a B at the end as this leads to an enclosed balcony.

My partner and I recently stayed at this hotel for 10 nights on a bed and breakfast basis. We found the room to exceed our expectations, large, clean and great amenities in the self catering kitchen. We had an apartment overlooking the pool. The staff were friendly and the cleaning staff always made a lovely job of cleaning the room. Fresh towels were provided every day too. There was free wifi in the reception area which was a bonus. The lift system was very confusing at first but we soon figured it out. We also had a day package in the spa too and the treatments were top notch and the prices reasonable (this is coming from a qualified beauty therapist). Would certainly recommend booking in before you leave. The only thing we were a little disappointed with was breakfast. Although there was nothing wrong with it (all edible/warm etc) just lacking a little. However, for the price we paid I felt this was to be expected. We would definitely stay again.

Having stayed at the Pergola Hotel last year for 10 nights and had a really great holiday with the helpful staff, weather being exceptional, we decided to revisit . We again stayed at the Pergola hotel for 10 nights in September 2013. This year was equally as good. Check in with Miriam was friendly and informative and Theresa was so helpful in our accomodation. The room was very clean and comfortable and everything worked (the one problem we had with a light switch was sorted within 30 minutes). The staff were so helpful that whenever we asked for assistance it was given willingly and quickly.We dined in all 3 hotel Restaurants and found the quality of service and food very good and also the food was excellent value for money, having also dined in the village (Steve, Derek, Andrew etc. are to be complimented on their friendly interpersonal skills) .
Having read other reviews of this hotel and Malta all we can say is Perception is Projection and watch Chicken Run more often to see what Mrs Tweedie has to say.
Would we stay again .... definitely.

We stayed at the Pergola hotel for 3 nights this September. Check in was good and the reception staff were also fine, but this is where it stopped. We were in room 50 on the same floor as reception. The room was clean and large, but the air con and overhead fan did not work so the room was sweltering. We brought this to the attention of the reception staff and were told nothing could be done that evening but they would get a separate fan for us. We waited and spoke to reception a further 3 times, but to no avail. We had a terrible night in the heat of the room. The next day after much complaining they did manage to find us a fan, but they made no attempt to get the overhead fan or the aircon working during our stay. Also for a 4star hotel to charge you for swimming towels, wifi in your room and a standard tourist map is unacceptable. We later stayed at the nearby Mellieha Maritim Hotel, which was in a different league. Cool and comfortable and inwould recommend you choose that over the Pergola.

Myself, husband, daughter and her friend recently stayed at The Pergola. After a friendly and informative welcome from the hotel receptionist, Louise, we were most impressed with our overall stay. Our rooms were very clean and comfortable and were cleaned every day. All other areas of the hotel were kept immaculate. The staff there very friendly and conscientious. Will definitely stay there again if we go back to Mellieha!
