YOU NEED TO STAY HERE!!
I dont usually write reviews but i am doing this as this hotel is fantastic!

I was contacted last summer about a special offer for me and my family by a young english ladie, so after alot of research i though what the heck and booked for me my husband and my 3 kids ages 4,9,15.

Wel were do i start, we were picked up from the airport and taken to the hotel (i do agree the hotel is a little out the way but if u want quality then why would you have a 5* in say bugibba) anyway we were shown to our room and to are suprise a gorgous sea view 2 bedroom 2 showroom apartment with a kitchenette. the view from our balcony was gorgous looking at golden sands beach and over the pools. HEAVEN!!

I honestly could write for days about our holiday to malta because it was fantastic and the price just made it even better i think all in for the 5 of us flights and hotel was less the £1000 Which is what is costs for a week for this hotel as we have looked to go back but maybe just me and the hubby for a spa break!

The kids animation team are a godsend (they are all fully qualified) that was one of the first things i checked but they were fantastic with all my kids.

the beach is small but then there isnt many beaches in malta and we didnt have to pay for sun beds and as the beach is private to the radisson i didnt mind leaving the kids with animation team and going with the hubby to the beach.

Nightly entertainment was great kids first then different acts for all family swizzles bar open till around 1am. The drinks were a tad expensive but this is a 5* hotel for you and not the worst prices ive paid.

The hotel reception is beauiful and the staff are fantastic couldnt help you more!

As many others we went on the promo deal where you have to meet with one of the Radisson reps to have a look at the hotel facilites this is useful as it is a big resort and the member club is gorgous but wasnt in our price range - but NO HARD SELL which this was one this i was scared about. the morning we met with a young man named paul and our kids went off to the animation club while we looked round the hotel and member club. dont get me wrong we were very tempted but not something to have while we have a young family! but any way after 3 hours we finished and joined are kids around the pool volley ball was the afternoon game i think that day!

(not just for the kids for the dads too)

unfortunatly i didnt get to try the spa but i do hope to one day go back to this hotel.

If you get the chance to go this hotel dont miss it - ignore the negative picky remarks people make and try it for your self! You cant please everyone!

Hope you find this helpfll

the wilson family xxx

We..my husband and I took our 2and half year old toddler who loves all the animations and night entertainment we got in spades in the greek all inclusive resort mitsus rodos village...so here we were all disappointed as there was absolutely nothing to do in the evenings and the hotel being so remote its not like we could go elsewhere for a stroll;..

on the positive side...there was a free bus shuttle but you had to book days in advance at times as there were only 12 or so seats...
The hotel itself was beautiful and we had a sea facing one bed apartment that was amazing..we had a pull out sofa bed that was so easy to pull out and was better quality than our bed back home!!

The room had a huge balacony with drying rack for our wet swim clothes and a wonderful sea view.
the beach was literally on the hotel doorstep...lovely sandy beach, although a bit rocky on the water edge.
We had free wireless internet in the room (better to take your own laptop as the pay internet bays were 19 euros per hour!!! )...we also had a dvd player and you could pick up free hollywood movies from the hotel mini market...you just had a deposit put against your room number and deleted when you returned them...

The restuarants were expensive but we used to take the free shuttle to st Julians were the bus would drop us off near a HALAL donor kebab shop and we would take loads of stuff from there and from the supermarket round the corner from the kebab shop, as butter eggs etc were expensive from the hotel shop.

The room had a fully working kitchen so it was easy for us to get by without expensive hotel food...

Lovely weather..hot enough for toddler to paddle in the beach...only rained one night..
The games and kids room for kids was closed 80% of the week which was a shame as there was nothing for the little one (or us)...but a wonderful relaxing beautiful hotel and swimming pools to spend a nice week...we went on a promotion so had to spend half a day on a sales pitch but there was no hard sell...as long as yu can get through that, then its worth it for the rest of the 6 days to enjoy a discounted stay.

Its great to go if you want to swim and sunbathe

LOVED IT ! We went in December 09 following a cold call from someone offering a week for £99 (self catering) so we thought we'd have a look. On the whole we were pleased; details to follow:
1) Room offered was sea view and suite including kitchen, 4 berth, but on arrival were shown to a basic double room. However, a simple word with reception and they showed us to a suite as promised with sea view - wonderful on waking up next day! Gorgeous view over the bay!

No complaints re room service and cleaning

2) Restaurants are very expensive. Agiollio was reasonable, but pasta and pizza for 15 euros plus. In December beach restaurants close about 5pm so you need to be aware. At this time of year, though you can travel cheaply on the bus into town, you might miss the bus back! Check timetables or book a taxi!!!

3) About the hotel. We stayed one week from 2 - 9 Dec. There are three towers, Sunset, middle and sunrise. We were placed in the middle, very nice. If you are on a budget I would suggest you take some tea and coffee and coffee mate, some jam or marmite for basic breakfast and some cuppa soups and Pot Noodles as everything else is MEGA EXPENSIVE even in the little hotel deli come supermaket.

4) We knew we'd have to sit thru the time share presentation, but we actually enjoyed it. Gary Burns is good, and honest. (He even drove me into town later as I had to get a prescription).
But having concluded that we couldn't sign up to the timeshare, we were surprised to be offered a 3 year Getaway deal - worth a look! Deffo!!

Extra benefit - stars like Robon Gibb stay there ingognito!!!

We stayed here as a gift exchange from my sister who owns a Timeshare through Interval. Some things are good, some not so good.

The good:
1. Lovely outdoor pool. It was too cold to swim in December, but it sure looked nice.
2. A few little cafes nearby which served fine beer and coffee, at 50% the cost of hotel. (Munchies and Apple's Eye.)
3. Golden Bay is lovely. Calm, quiet.
4. Near nature trail (up the country view.)
5. Everyone really nice. The cleaning ladies were nice, just didn't clean very welly.

The bad:
1. Since this is a time-share hotel, hordes of kids. The indoor pool was NOT monitored for 9-12pm for kids, and it was always full, due to lack of things for kids to do on the property.
2. Internet was horrifically expensive! 20 euro an hour, on pokey machines.
3. Rooms were a bit shabby and not cleaned well. Our sheets for the whole week were not changed, and the robe in the bathroom obviously was dirty from the folks who stayed before.
4. Restaurants are very expensive. Agiollio was reasonable, but lets face it, its pasta and pizza for 15 euros plus.
5. Tiny tube TV. ?? 5 star with a tiny 13 inch tube tv?

About the hotel. We stayed one week from 22 - 29 Dec. There are three towers, Sunset, middle and sunrise. We were placed in the middle. Prior to going to the resort, I'd emailed them as I'd read about parking, shabby rooms, etc. I was sent very nice emails back that if I have a problem parking, then they'll sort it and assure me a space. Secondly, they said they'll give us a seaview room to the best of their ability. Fair enough.

It was zero problem parking except on Christmas Eve and Christmas, as it appeared that many local Maltese came to the restaurants to eat their holiday meal. So absent that, I can say that parking is more than adequate. They have a garage, outdoor and near entrance parking and anyone can park down the road too. Come on, a little walk hurts no one!

Room: we had a room with a mini kitchen so avoided even touching the minibar at all, as yes, its all billed the second you touch it. The bed was fine, but the pillows were awful. About an inch thick. Our sheets were not changed all week. I had to leave a note just for them to vaccuum once. Towels were replaced each day, but often missing one or nonesuch. No slippers, but I did see them on housekeeping cart. She was nice to always top off the tea that we drank. We were in the middle tower in a 'country view' room, but it was fine because it was on the end, so on the left we had the pool and bay view and the right was the car park and countryside. All of Malta is scrubbrush, so the country view is just that.

We never found the deli open. No matter, we had a car and bought drinks and groceries along the way. We never ate breakfast there, but did have pizzas at the Agiolio italian restaurant, which was very nice and personable.

Mocha cafe is in the reception area, but we simply walked down to Munchies for all matter of coffees and beers at half the price. If folks are here all the time, I can see how they'd burn through their spending cash. The hotel is very expensive with very little else to choose from, unless you leave the area.

My husband was very annoyed at a Sunday morning, 9 AM call waking us up - it was the time share folks. George wanted to chat me up first but I was half asleep and no, I wasn't interested to 'chat.' Finally I said, "I'm not here to buy a time share. I'm here on legitimate vacation." He apologized and hung up. That was the only brush with timeshare crazies...

Now for those going to Malta, I'd recommend a rental car. We found a car from Avis for 10 days and 94 euro, all inclusive. (You pay for the gas, of course.) We took the ferry to Gozo, this is a must do. Also a car allows you to really see how Maltese and the expats live, as you can drive to any nook and cranny you wish. And you can dine affordably and enjoy something new each meal.

We also had stayed at the Excelsior (5*) in Valletta, and that was better, but I'd rate that as a 4*, and this Radisson a 3*. Maybe when it was built, it was better, but the location makes up for it. I loved Golden Bay and being in the NW of the island. Sliema is way overcrowded, as is St. Julian's. We loved being in Malta, and if we return, we'd go to another hotel as Radisson simply didn't have something to be memorable about, nor something to return to.

A wonderful hotel with first class service. The food in every restaurant and bar of the hotel was delicious and very well presented. It was excellent value for money and we were also lucky enough to have good weather over the new year. I would recommend the hotel to anyone of any age group.

Some positives.
I stayed in the hotel and did not venture out at all (this is my type of holiday). I therefore really immersed myself in the hotel. Try and meet Henri, he is friendly and should be your contact point. Do not speak to Carl, he is unfriendly and does not care much for guests.

Loved the atmosphere, a friendly hotel and good not do enough for you. We have been been to many 5 start, and this is not bad.
Good restaurants, expensive but recommend half board
Italian restaurant very large portions, order sensibly
They even cooked a vegetarian curry especially for us. Very attentive.
Very good entertainment every night including jazz and comedian
Spa treatment very good.
Rooms very large and good facilities.
I love the veranda.
Maltese very friendly.

Negatives.
Music (ambience) too loud
Children not supervised, so the swimming area is noisy. But I have been assured that from 2nd January 2010 that children in swimming pool will be limited to 9-12pm.
Jacuzzi very small, some locals very selfish and will hog and children are let in
Sauna totally inadequate
Breakfast - never changes. unexciting
If you are buying time share - don't. Many disgruntled who brought into a dream. Will people never learn. £48,000 worth only £6k

Although on a special deal with flights arranged via Air Malta a potential 5 star holiday was completely spoiled through poor management, poor service and some cleaning left to be desired. Air Malta provided excellent service particularly as the third member of our party has disabilities. No problems there.
On arrival we were kept waiting while a member of the organisation kept us talking missing the opening times of the Deli. Tea and coffee making in the apartment was limited for a early evening arrival. No generosity there. Over the next six days our apartment only had luke warm water for four days. Hot water was provided by having to boil a large stew pan for washing crockery, bathing etc.
On the sixth day we were moved from Sunrise second floor to Sunset sixth floor. This appeared to be a good move with hot water and although still facing north overlooking a camping site our balcony did extend round the end of the building overlooking the pools and Golden Bay.
Two days or so into the second apartment a letter was placed under the door (which was temperamental in closing shut correctly) informing us that decorators would be painting the balconies. On this particular day all the balcony furniture was left stored in the bedrooms. Flaky paint was everywhere deposited by the decorators having dragged their protective plastic sheeting through the apartment.
Housekeeping was informed and requested to “Hoover” the carpets, the only occasion they were cleaned. We also shared our rooms with resident ants.
It was practice to place dirty towels/ tea towels on the floor for replacement, on occasions these were picked up folded as replacements.
While attempting to leave the hotel one morning the lifts were not working, fine taking the stairs but bumpy taking the wheelchair down!
Parking is a complete nightmare especially when some parking bays are cordoned off. On this occasion the front desk made four telephone calls to establish the reason. With so many employees and no transport or car sharing practice much of the available parking is taken by the hotel.
I can honestly say that the Radisson’s 5 star luxury is truly supported with 5 star prices not only in all the restaurants but the small on site Deli.
Be prepared and have a health credit card to pay the way.
