“Wonderful holiday”
Reviewed May 25, 2014

My family and I have just reurned form a wonderful two weeks stay at the Radisson Blu Resort.
You could not ask for better accommodation. Our sea view apartment was ideal and to a very high standard. All the staff within the hotel and restaurants were most friendly and would go out of their way to help you, and always with a warm, genuine smile (Henri, in particular - how could the hotel run without him!). The bedrooms were cleaned and valeted each day and the hotel premises, including the on-sight pool areas, were always spotlessly clean.
Breakfasts in the Flavours restaurant are to die for!
This was our third visit to the resort and we will certainly keep coming as long as we are able.
Try to book evening restaurants meals in advance, as they are so popular and tables fill up so quickly. The food standard is amazing and very reasonably priced especially in Agliolio's.
It is worth trying to hire a car if you want to explore the island, as the resort is sited away from large towns (ideal if you want to spend a very peaceful holiday and the hotel offers all the facilities you would want to have). There is a perfectly good and frequent public bus service, but journeys can take that much longer especially at rush-hour times.

Room Tip: Sea view ideal but all rooms of a high standard.

Once again a very relaxing time in our usual spotless apartment overlooking the bay; thank you Nancy for cleaning and looking after us so well as always.. Thanks to Lara, Jennifer and Michael for their professional and attentive service in the Moccha Bar.
A special thank you to Henri for your help and assistance on many matters, and for your professional and humorous approach to providing a service to your guests. If anyone is visiting for the first time I would recommend that you make Henri's acquaintance early in your visit; it's not difficult - he seems to be everywhere at once! Looking forward to seeing you all next June.

Room Tip: All the rooms are good, but the rooms overlooking the bay have the sun for most of the day and into...

A great place to stay while in Malta. Close to 5 star service. I would recommend it to anyone. The food at all of the restaurants proved excellent quality food and service. My only criticism is that there was no "Towel" service at the members pool, which meant a traps up

As owners at the Radisson for the past 8 years we have had some excellent breaks at different times of the year, whether it be early or late season and have been the recipients of consistently high standards of service on each occasion. Our sea view room is always in immaculate condition with equipment (whether in the small kitchen or generally in the bedroom and bathroom) upgraded as required, although it did take a while for the move from an old style CRT television to an LCD screen. Bed Linen, towels, bathrobes and slippers are of a very high quality as are all the fixtures and fittings.
Facilities are excellent with a number of outdoor pools (although it would be good if they were warmer), an indoor pool, gym and spa. There is loads of space to escape from the rest of the guests if that is what you want to do.
All the staff whether front of house, in the restaurants, or housekeeping offer excellent, friendly, and efficient service where nothing is too much trouble. Special mention has to go to Henri who always greets guests with a smile with a knack of making one feel like the staff are there purely to serve you and no one else. Also, Michael in the Mokka bar and Raymond in Flavours restaurant who both make a particular point of greeting guests with a smile and great attention. This year we have noticed a some cause for concern. On the two nights that we dined in the Flavours restaurant the food was not up to the usual standard. It wasn't bad as such but was not as good as we have come to expect. Also it appeared to us that there were fewer staff at breakfast time. Breakfast is buffet style but staff provide tea and coffee and clear the tables. It was noticeable that staff were struggling to serve as well as clear the tables. This is not a fault of any of the staff who were, as always, eager to please but rather it gave the impression that management were attempting to make some savings on the payroll. It was also a concern that the dress requirement of men being required to wear long trousers for evening meals in the restaurants was not being upheld. I am not a snob and like to dress very casually if I am on holiday, but the hotel should enforce this rule. My final concern is that the sunbeds which are supposed to be reserved for hotel guests are being hired out to the general public who visit the beach. On two occasions in the last week hotel guests were not able to get beds with a parasol as quite a number had been hired out.
Location wise, the hotel is in the perfect position for relaxation being on one of the best, and only, beaches on the island with nothing else around it except for 3 beach bars, each of which offers excellent quality and value food and drink. Walking directly from hotel in either direction provides some lovely views along the cliffs and one can walk over to the next village, Mgarr, with a fabulous church and some nice cafe's/restaurants. If one feels really energetic then you can walk over to Mellieha which has some good shops and restaurants and a very nice beach area. Otherwise public transport is efficient and cheap (1.50 euros for all day travel). The island has many places of interest to visit with Valetta and Mdina being high on the list.
Overall, if you are looking for a quiet relaxing holiday in a fabulous location and on a lovely island, then I can highly recommend the Radisson.

Room Tip: Try to get a sea view room, the higher the better.

This is a a genuine 5 star hotel with very good food, especially Flavours Restaurant and top class accommodation. The outdoor pool is superb but the water a little cold in May when my wife and I go(often with friends and family). The staff are polite, helpful and extremely courteous and the staff in Flavours are exceptional. We having been going to the hotel every year since it opened and plan to continue doing so. The beach in our opinion is the best on the island and the private section with free sun loungers and parasols is a bonus. The location is a little secluded but frequent buses to the rest of the island and a shuttle bus(there is a charge) make it easy to get around. A hire car should be considered. The hop on hop off bus also stops at Golden Bay.

My wife and I have been to the Radisson Blu twice, the first time as a result of ‘winning’ a free holiday …..provided you undergo a gruelling, (up to 4 hour) hard sell by someone who would make a car salesmen seem like an amateur. We paid a little extra to upgrade our accommodation to self-catering on that occasion and were allocated a rearward facing apartment in one of the hotels three towers. Although not a sea view, there was plenty to entertain us as we sat on our balcony in the evenings … there were ramblers, mountain bikers, horse riders, a group of scouts holding a BBQ and sing-along on the adjacent campsite … and even a large number of what looked like Napoleonic war French soldiers … presumably filming a battle scene. We had an excellent stay on that occasion. Our second visit was equally good, this time we had an apartment overlooking the Golden Sands beach and bay …. and directly below us we had a view of the excellent pool, palm trees, pool bar, etc. Timeshare selling process apart, the Radisson Blu comes across as a top quality hotel complex … the facilities seem endless, lobbies and apartments are a joy to be in and service is second to none. It all comes at a price though …. but it could be one worth paying.
