db Seabank Resort + Spa
Ranked #2 of 12 Hotels in Mellieha
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed October 20, 2013

We stayed at the Seabank for the first two weeks in October and had the most fabulous time.

The hotel is located in Mellieha Bay, with a main road separating the hotel from the beach, so if it's generally peace and quiet you're after, it's peace and quiet you'll get!!! There really isn't a lot going on in the area, which really what makes it such a nice place to get away and chill out.

If you want to go out and about and do some sightseeing, then there's a bus stop across the road which gives you access to a very good, inexpensive bus service that enables you easy access to the rest of the island.

Now for the hotel........

We've been returning to the Seabank for 12 years and the hotel just keeps getting better and better with each visit.

The hotel in it's new and improved state is fairly new (2012) and you can't fault it for cleanliness.

The bedrooms are spacious, modern and sleek - it's really nice (and a bit of a novelty) to have plenty of hangers in the wardrobe - this is something that you don't always get in a lot of hotels.

The range of facilities are great - there's a wonderfully huge outside pool with more than enough sunbeds and there are plenty of parasols and shady areas to sit should it get a bit too warm. There is also a great kids pool and play area to keep the little ones entertained.

The Spa offers a good range of pampering services, which are all reasonably priced and they also look after the steam room and sauna, which are a good size.

I would say that this hotel is very good for those with younger children, as it's a very safe environment, with the added bonus of a sandy beach just across the road - there is also a kids club, which will keep them out of mischief!

ENTERTAINMENT
There is a great animation team at the hotel, who are incredibly cheerful and seem to enjoy their work and there are various activities throughout the day - should you wish to join in, of course!!! They put on a different show each evening in the entertainment dome - they may not always be everyone's cup of tea, but if you don't want to watch it, you certainly don't have to.

FOOD
As an all inclusive resort, you can effectively eat from 7.30 am through to 10 pm - pretty much all of the meals are buffet style and with such a wide range of different dishes, I defy anyone not to be able to find something they will enjoy. The main restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with the pool restaurant also offering a late breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea. There is also an additional four restaurants - an Italian, an Asian, a Brazilian and a Mediterranean - but you have to pre-book these which is easy to do once you are at the hotel.

STAFF
The staff all work incredibly hard and work pretty long hours, but they are all working to make sure that the guests have a wonderful and memorable stay.

All of the staff at the hotel are incredibly helpful, from the Hotel Manager, The Executive Chef (slightly bonkers, but an absolute superstar),The Asian Restaurant Chef, the Food & Beverage Outlet Manager, The Spa Manager, all the way to the wonderful cleaners who work so hard to keep the hotel clean.

Can't wait to come back next year xxx

After reading previous reviews this is why I picked this hotel because they were excellent, and i must say the seabanks lived up to them all .The hotel was clean , bedrooms great, staff very friendly , food excellent an lots of variety ,animation team worked there socks off . The hotel is right on the beach, with the bus stop out side to get around the beautiful island . The only critisam is , they could have had professional entertainment for an hour each night to give the great animation team a rest, it has a lovely promade but no shops an just a few bars , you have to catch a bus, 4 stops up the hill , as it is very steep to the main village . We'll done, we will love to return

Room Tip: Pool side had the sun this time of year , but we had sea view which was great watching the activity...

I stayed at Seabank with my husband and 14 year old daughter in the summer holidays. We have stayed in Mellieha, in apartments, a couple of times before as we like the beach and the people. We wanted a hotel this year for the pool and entertainment. The beach is very safe and Seabank is in a great spot for teenagers as they can to and fro safely from beach to hotel. Food was yummy, great mix of med and british tastes- the chinese restaurant was delicious. The entertainment team were the sweetest and most hard working I have come across. They made our, and especially our daughter's, stay really fun! All the staff are very polite, profesional and hard working; they really want to make your holiday the best it can be. Mellieha village itself isn't a busy resort but if you want a night out Buggiba has a good prom and St. Julians is buzzy and has a great shopping mall.

Stayed here for a week (5 October 2013) with my husband 2 children, mum, dad and brother.
Had a fantastic stay, food good, family room lovely for my 2 children, disappointed with our balcony view, but beggars cant be choosers! Loads of choice food wise, my 2 boys 6 and 3 always found something they liked even in the chinese restaurant. Animation team always on the go with varied shows in the evening. Good choice of all inclusive drinks at the bar and snacks served all day (more like meals!!). Highly recommend this hotel for access to Mellieha beach, such a great time spent there and just over the road (10 euro charge for 2 beds and parasol) water very clear and warm, lots of water sports (inc Dive Center!). Really recommend the local bus service 2.6 euro all day hop on and off, we did it and had lots of fun exploring new places for next to nothing! Use Williams garage 00356 21575146 for private taxi transfers, very cheap always on time and polite. Used them to go to Valletta and transfers to and from airport, always put themselves out and you get a quick guide to Malta on the way! Dont use hotel taxi's so expensive!! The only down side to holiday was coming home! Would definitely go back, just got to save the pennies!!

Room Tip: Try to get a good view from balcony, sea or pool, rooms all seem very quiet.

Stayed at the Seabank on our third time in Malta. This was a first class experience for all of my family, it has amazing choice and very high standards. We were made fell very welcome from start to finish, staff were always available and helpful. Stephen Gatt the Ex Chef ensured we were always looked after at meal times.

We have just booked to return to Malta for a fourth time, we have also booked to return to The Seabank, had excellent help with booking from The General Manager Hubert and also Graziella from Reservations Dept.

The Staff make this Hotel so enjoyable!! Excellent Hotel

Big thanks to all at the Seabank for a lovely holiday, Hotel was busier and bigger than I expected but that didn't make any difference to the staff who should all get a pay rise from Hugo after this review.
Rooms were of a good size, we stayed on the 4th floor with a pool view, I would recommend this floor as the balcony was a little larger, however we only booked a standard room.
Food was of a very good standard and lots of it (big bigger now than before I went away.) and wasn't too repetitive in the main restaurant but also 3 other restaurants as other reviews will mention.
Finally but not least. the entertainment team were the best I have seen on any other holiday. great dancers, singers and all round entertainers at night but also work very hard keeping everyone entertained around the pool by day.

Thanks for a great holiday.
