Agree w/ most of the comments posted about Seabank.

Food.

The food is very good. We used the buffet on arrival night and the Italian x 3, Med x1, Oriental x 1 and Brazilian x 1. Best of the bunch in my opinion is the Italian followed by Med and then Oriental. Good choice of different things. Worth noting, if you book the Italian for during the w/e, it does get very busy. We waited c40 mins for a table to become available.
Cisk (local beer) is only available in the Italian rest.

Pools.
Nice little pool w/ slides for smaller people towards the back area of the main pool.
Plenty of sunbeds available through the duration of our stay and an over 16’s only pool area with its own bar area.

Rooms.
Clean and spacious. We were upgraded to a two bed, as you look at the hotel to the left hand side. The road that runs alongside can be a little noisy but no big deal.

The area.
It's quiet. There is not a whole lot around the resort. If you are looking for a peaceful and relaxing week, this place should fit your needs.

Would we return? No doubt. Yes.

We made a one week holiday in Seabank. We tried to choose a good quality hotel with sandy beach, but we are a bit disappointed. The location is perfect for a family, Malta is beautiful. The hotel is nice, our room was a corner room and was very large with enough place for a babybed also. The room was cleaned well, but the corridors are very dirty.
Room service is very bad. We asked for one more towel and a pillow for our daughter. I called them 2 times and after 4 hours we had it. It was a little bit late, but was no "sorry" or something like that, only a men, who did us a "favor".
Food is bad. Breakfast: There is not enough vegetebles for breakfast. If you are going down around 9.30, than you can feel that you have only 30 minutes time left. There are 4 coffee machines, but only one worked and was no more milk in it, but nobody come to refill it. A waiter said to me, that I can find a another one on the corner, but it was also out of order. The "fruit" juices are horrible. They made from pulver and are disgusting. Why can't you give normal juices for the breakfast too? If you would like to have normal orange or pineapple juice for your breakfast, than make a trip, before you eat, to the pool bar and take it with you to the breakfast. For lunch the pizza is the best! Like in Italy! It was a bit dissapointing, that we had the same meats for lunch, what we had for dinner last evening.
Drinks are bad quality. Coctails, drinks are the cheapest quality. Cola, sprite etc. are also bad.
Dinner is poor. I ate a fish and had an attack of indigestion. It was a bad night...
Children pool area is good, but you can't find anything under the age of 3. For us it was super, but with smaller childrens, the water is to deep.
I was on a massage too, but it was not good. It was like a caress, not a massage.
Overall I would not recommend this hotel for others. I think for this money, you must have more and can find better quality.

Room Tip: The seaview rooms are facing to the main road. It's very noise, in the night also! You can't...

Hotel and holiday more or less what we expected.
We arrived early hours of the morning after flight from Exeter. When I booked the flight was mid afternoon but was changed. Not sure whether the airlines decided to change flight times or whether our agent or Thomas Cook got the times wrong previously.
Only the driver of the minibus greeted us with a 'welcome pack' inviting us to a meeting with the TC rep at 9.15am. Needless to say we did not make the meeting after the long journey arriving round 2am. We heard nothing more from Thomas Cook so did not have a chance to go on any excursions. Won't book throughThomas Cook again.
I did barter for a high floor room with seaview which we got but partly because the other passengers were in a queue behind me! Sorry to them for holding up their check in.
Our family room was spacious for the two of us. Good views and not too loud with the traffic.
Only problem was we could not use the air conditioning because it was so noisy but thankfully it was not too hot and there was a ceiling fan.
Food was good and a lot of choice, on tap wine and bar available when wanted. It's too tempting to eat too much and regret it after.
Coffee in the restaurants and bar area only available from a machine, which was dreadful.
A nice pot of coffee with breakfast would have made a difference.
There was a general feel of uncleanliness, dust around and grubby round the edges with stained carpets in the corridors to our room. When I wiped water from the bathroom floor after a shower I was shocked by the black dirt from the floor left on the bathmat. Had read somewhere Malta is having problems with where to dump their rubbish maybe this is why there were flies everywhere inside as well as outside.
Staff helpful when needed but the hotel could do with more info on show to let residents know when and where food was available eg why one restaurant was open one day and not the next.
The beach is very busy but there are other beaches not so popular within easy reach.
We will probably not stay at Seabank again.

Room Tip: Pool room if you want the sound of kids playing and entertainment. Seaview on fifth floor good but...

Dear karinl,

thank you choosing to stay at the Seabank and for sharing your experience with fellow readers of tripadvisor.

We are glad you liked your spacious room, the view and variety of food and drink available. When it comes to coffee, we use a popular international brand in our machines and we re sorry to note that it was not to your liking. Flies can be annoying especially in the outside areas but rest assured it has nothing to do with Malta's rubbish problems. The countryside around the hotel is a more likely source. We are certainly looking into the housekeeping concerns raised and if you could email me your room number, it will surely help us and will be much appreciated.

We are sorry to hear about your flight change and we can imagine that this has started off your holiday on the wrong footing. The Thomas Cook representative is available 24/7 and a phone call from reception would have ensured a meeting with her straight away.

Once again, I would like to thank you for your comments that will certainly help us to improve. Should you want to book with us again, feel free to email me beforehand so I will personally ensure that next time round, you will have a truly fantastic holiday like that experienced by many of our satisfied guests.

best regards,

We have just returned from our second 2 week holiday to the Seabank and it was even better than the first!
Firstly a massive thank you to the Animation Team who entertained us morning & night throughout our holiday! They work tirelessly to keep us all smiling and bring out the best in everybody! Alex, Alvaro & Dominika are not only fantastic dancers but have the ability to get people off their sunbeds and get you into some sort of activity! The Aqua gym being a favorite not only for the women but the 'macho' men as well!!!
Also, I wanted to reply to a previous review regarding the 'Walking on Nails' act. I was actually one of audience who was asked to go on stage and check the nails and glass AND walk on Boris! I can categorically say that those nails are real & SHARP because I shouted out in shock when I touched them! As we have now spent 4 weeks in total at the Seabank, we have seen it a couple of times but it still never ceases to entertain!
However one of our favorites is the comedy night when Boris ‘plays’ Alvaro and the whole team do a routine involving alot of water! You need to see it to believe it! Hilarious!
The Bar Staff also work extremely hard throughout the day & night – in particular a guy in the cave bar who we like to call ‘Andrew’ (he knows who he is..) was fantastic!
Lastly a special thank you to the management Team, in particular Marion who made us feel that nothing was too much trouble for her... She always went over & above the call of duty to help us and make everything perfect!

In fact we are so impressed with the Seabank & its team that we will be returning for a 3rd time for Christmas & New Year! See you soon Guys xxx

Room Tip: Seaview rooms get alot of sun!

Were there last year was so good we rebooked Arrived around 0015 tagged up and our cases were taken to our room 2116.food was available in the restaurant yuk it was just a mess Up to our room unpacked and sleep .On waking in the morning very disappointed with the room view a large flat roof overlooking the sea at no time did we get sunshine on our veranda we were set back too far . The standard of the meals was changeable to say the least some breakfasts were abysmal I asked for the toaster knob to be replaced as to get toast it needed 3 goes hence very hard toast. The staff were their normal friendly self there was only one plate snatcher but was ok after I spoke to them. We had a meal in the Mediterranean room one night didn't really impress me at all as it was basically the same as the Coral saying that the rabbit was very nice. We also used the Oriental evening this was very nice and plenty to try out. Cant fault the room staff Allison was a diamond We have always hired a car but this year we decided we had seen enough of the island so it was sun, sea swimming, eating and plenty of drinking. One day we noticed the leg on the bed had broken, a phone call and it was fixed. There were a few end of season tiredness but hey im on holiday chilled out I can over come them. Sonia in the Coral room she was there last year took us to reception where they cut off the blue bands we had on and replaced them with black hence the title returnees. Didn't know what to expect but as time went by nothing altered Must say one thing though wish we had not retuned, last year was really great this year although the holiday was good the stranded of the hotel had gone down new seating is needed in the foyer as I and many others struggled to get into and out of the sofas as for those round chairs ......We didn't spend too much time in the evening watching the shows as we prefer to sit outside but there were too many smokers around the place Overall I would recommend this hotel to others

Room Tip: the sea view rooms were our choice both years but this one 2116 was not a sunshine veranda

Stayed here just recently for 1 week but came away feeling dissapointed. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere with nothing around it. The only saviour is the bus stop which is dead opposite for getting around the island for some "Life". Recommend Mdina in rabat, stunning place and scenic views!

Dont get me wrong the hotel lobby, buffet restaurant and bar is tastefully refurbed. But beyond that, and you as go upto the rooms it very much changes. Corridors dingy and dirty, big stains on carpets and the smell was horrid. Just tile the corridors i say. Our room was on the 3rd floor and was very noisy too from nearby busy road. Couldnt think if you had the patio door open!! Noisy!! So i suggest a pool facing room!! Our room was a junior suite and had ample of space. I heard reviews about people getting black feet from the room floors, and yes this happened. Horrid!! So the housekeeping could be alot better. The meals were ok but wouldnt go overboard. Night entertainment was very poor especially if you were 30+, I recommend getting the bus to Paceville. or the owners turn ex bowling alley into nightclub!? Night snacks didnt exist either if you were peckish after the restaurants shut. Cocktail menu very limited and naff! Seemed they only made the cheapest ones possible. We were looking forward to endless mojitos but they didnt do them!??

If youre hoping for the kids to be entertained in the games area...well there isnt one. Only 2 wonky pooly tables in an area time forgot!! Was hoping for a few games of bowling but was dissapointed as this was ripped up and area looked very untidy. Even kids could get into the area and mess with remaining pins and balls strewn eveywhere, wont be long until a kid traps or hurts themselves. A HEALTH & SAFETY ISSUE!!
Last but not least was the plague of FLIES!! Everywhere you went, outside or within the hotel you were constantly pestered with flies....even inside all restaurants, and were constantly on your food or the buffet. Disgusting!! Not a fly uv light in sight as this would sort some of the blighters out!! Sort this out Seabank!!! Also the fire alarm kept going off with no reason why.

We will not be returning for the reasons of cleanliness & location!!

Room Tip: Book Pool view. Quieter than road.

Dear youngy,

Thank you for posting a review on trip advisor. We are saddened to read that in many areas we have failed to meet your expectations. I can only assure you that your comments have been shared by all concerned and actions will be taken where necessary to improve.

For the peace of mind of those reading this, the ex-bowling area has been totally covered up and segregated and there is absolutely no health and safety concerns there. The games area is being given a facelift as we speak and more games have already been added and included in our vast animation program.

The location of hotel benefits from natural surroundings and faces Malta's largest sandy beach and clear, safe waters. You will be happy to know that we will be investing in a new nightclub across the road by the sea that will bring much more life to the area. This will be available next summer. In the meantime, there are already a few restaurants and bars within walking distance and also in the village of Mellieha which is literally up the hill from us. The bus stop across the road from hotel is very convenient for visiting other parts of the island too..

Thank you for your suggestions about the flies though we have already more that the recommended amounts of UV lights, automatic spray machines and air curtains in place. We will surely keep looking other ways of reducing flies entering the hotel from the nearby fields.

If you would be so kind as to send me the room number you have stayed in, it will help us a lot in looking into any housekeeping issues as your comments certainly do not reflect the general cleaning standard in the whole hotel. My email is hdebono@seabankhotel.com

Once again I thank you for your time and look forward to hearing from you.

Best regards,

Hubert Debono
