Hotel is in a nice location, unless you are looking for night life [I wasn't]. Very clean accommodation and comfortable beds. Wardrobe space was a bit limited with 10 hangers between 2 people, with one large but not very deep drawer. There were small bedside tables with not enough space for my underwear. Kept nightwear, swimsuits etc. in my case. Wardrobe was also not very long, so my long dress had to hang on some pegs on the wall.Food was good, but in my opinion, not very well laid out. Desserts were in a small section in the middle of the main courses and there always seemed to be a jam there, with people coming from all directions. Drinks were good quality, but a limited selection of cocktails. If it wasn't on the list, then it couldn't be made. Not much in the way of evening entertainment. Singers were pretty much the same... east listening style. Two highlights were the young female violinist and on the last night, two members of the entertainment staff put on a great show, with amazing "Riverdance" type dancing. It certainly went down very well.A couple of tips.... if you buy the weekly bus ticket [recommended], they can be purchased from the small shop on the first floor. Also, if you want mayonnaise on your salad, you'll find it next to the chips!!Most of the staff were efficient and friendly, but a few in the dining area made the minimum effort, unless there was a visit by a bigwig. The ladies in charge of that area mucked in with the clearing of tables etc and some of the staff could learn a lot from them. The bar staff were excellent and some of them never seemed to be off duty. With a bit more attention to the evening entertainment and some of the staff getting a kickstart, this would get 5 stars from me. Even if you are tired and bored, please try to appear a bit more enthusiastic. Your clients will appreciate it!!

The location of the hotel is great, its in a very pleasant area. Everything is very accessible, you have ferry trips, bus stops, restaurants and bays a stone throw away. The hotel itself is very big and spacious and modern, the staff are very helpful and friendly.

But we did have a few little issues, they didn't seem equipped for the number of quests. We queued for well over an hour to check in (they gave us snacks and prosecco to compensate for the wait tho). We also went a whole day without any towels at one stage. When we went to complain they said they ran out of towels, but again they were apologetic and compensated us with a bottle of wine (which was very nice).

We paid for the breakfast only package and paid for the all you can eat dinner buffet on the 1st night and the food was very nice. A good variety of food to choose from.

The spa we only used once because we were to busy exploring the beauty the island had to offer. The day we used the spa/indoor pool, it was very busy with families. If you wanted a quiet swim you would probably have to plan it in early.

Would I stay there again... yes I would. Lets just hope they iron out the problems we came accross.

Visited the Labranda hotel for a short break at the beginning of November with my wife. I had some reservations after reading poor reviews re food quality, unfriendly staff, boring entertainment, isolated location, etc. etc.
Having written numerous hotel reviews and being quite fussy when it comes to hotel standards, I felt it was time to put the record straight and give, what I hope, is a brief honest review.
1) Food quality: lots of good, quality dishes to all tastes AND HOT!
2) Staff are very pleasant, helpful and polite.
3)Entertainment was reasonably good, keyboards/singer/violinist-all of a good standard,
4)Yes it IS in one of the more remote areas of Malta, but the bonus is a view, that on a sunny day, you just keep gazing at in wonder.
Are there any negative? Yes, of course, as with any hotel, but with each there is a positive. You do need to travel a distance to the capital, Valletta, 90 minutes on the bus. BUT, bus stop 2 minutes walk from hotel and bus fare (Winter rates) 1.50 euro!!!! The ferry to the island of Gozo is only a 20 minute walk (or 2 stops on the bus) and only 4.60 euro return on the ferry!
So, it depends on the individual, but if you're looking for a really good quality hotel in an unbeatable location, the Labranda is the hotel for you.
We're planning on going back!!!

Another lovely visit to this hotel - we usually go in the summer months but October was lovely and so much quieter and relaxing. Hired a car and saw lots of the island.

We were lucky with the weather too children tried the pools but the outside ones were too cold, so were in the sea every day instead.
Last couple of days were rainy so we used the indoor pool which was warm. Although feel it could be cleaner in that area. Lots of puddles of water on the sides where you walk. Hot tub was cold too and not always working.

Food was good and varied, you couldn’t go hungry!!
Lots of places to sit and have a drink inside and out - A/C was on all the time so cool indoors. Sunset lounge was great.
24 hour bar - so you could always have some type of refreshment.

Rooms were nicely decorated, clean and bathroom had a lovely shower!
We had a family room 326 which was great - no complaints

Can't really fault the hotel and all the staff were lovely and friendly too.
Special thank you to Mary on reception.

We look forward to returning next year as love this hotel and part of the island

We are only about half way through our week of winter sunshine staying at the Lambrada Riviera Hotel and Spa. Possibly it’s a little early to be posting a review but I feel compelled to address some of the issues that have feature in other reviews of this hotel.
Firstly the setting is exceptional. The views across the straights to Comino and Gozo are breathtaking and we spend hours watching the water, sky and tides, not to mention the small boats and larger ferries crossing between the islands. The ferry terminal to Gozo is a 20 minutes walk away, along a modern coastal road. Easily walkable from the Riviera - we took ourselves off to Gozo today and were back in time for a dip in the ‘adult only’ pool which catches the last of the afternoon sun.
Our room overlooks the main pool deck and to be fair, the sun isn’t high enough in early November to keep the main pools in full sun all day. But it IS November so I expect that if we were here in high summer there would be too much sun and shade would be a pleasant change. The sound of families does reverberate around the pool area and that has been a slight issue at times.
The hotel is modern and minimalist in style, lots of huge windows showcasing the amazing views. And little in the way of soft furnishings in the public areas. This does make the sound carry and a times the dinning room is a cacophony of sound. When we first arrived, tired from our early start and journey, it was a little stressful. But now that we have relaxed into our holiday, we are enjoying the different languages and especially seeing how the guests different nationalities play out when facing the huge range of foods.
There have been comments about the limited choice and range of dishes. I cannot understand what anyone can find to fault about the catering! We are here on an all inclusive basis and our only concern is being self disciplined enough to be sensible. There are different dishes every day and we try something new every meal. If by any bizarre accident we find ourselves hungry outside of the advertised restaurant hours, we wander along to the bar and treat ourselves to a snack. Sometimes pastries, sometimes a sandwich, whatever we fancy from what’s on offer.
This bar area becomes the evening lounge and entertainment area. The singers and musicians have been very enjoyable, but it is relaxed enough for those who want to to read or play cards or chat. There is a pleasant landscaped promenade leading to the private beach and onwards towards the neighbouring hotel, but if you are in search of more nightlife then a short bus ride or taxi journey is the next bay which is far more developed and built up. There is a mobile supermarket parked up across the way at the quayside where you can buy snacks or bottles of pop, but by and large the area around the hotel is unspoilt and rural.
The staff have all been, without exception, excellent. Friendly and attentive but without being intrusive. The clientele are very mixed, with some large groups, and families as well as couples & solo travellers. Some folk enjoy dressing up for dinner while others are in hiking gear - its a fine mix of humanity and the staff take it all in their stride. We are intrigued by the different wrist bands we spot our fellow guests wearing. Our latest theory is that some are All Inclusive, some half board, and some B&B, but we speculate that maybe some are enjoying the Spa treatments too....but we have more holiday days to go yet so still time to puzzle that out!

Room tip: Country view will be quieter tha pool view
