We spent 3 days in "Paradise Bay Resort Hotel". First of all I must tell that managers and reception were polite. They responded to our and other guests' inquiries in a professional way. The location of the hotel is not very suitable but, on the other hand, staying there, you can discover more about Malta and near located islands. Breakfast is not bad, rooms are clean. There is special retro-atmosphere and slow life. It's a rather good place for divers and people who like travelling around. Also we liked the staff of the hotel, for example a shop-assistant (polite, smiling) and the fact that the hotel has a shop. Good luck in your business!

I absolutely loved the paradise bay hotel. We stayed there for 3 nights on half board basis. Great selection for breakfast and dinner- wide and varied variety so you don't get bored. Annalisa at the main restaurant was remarkable- attentive, helpful and cheerful for both breakfast and dinner. Catherine at the reception was very helpful and gave useful information about hotel and also nearby facilities. The room was great- spacious, beautiful view and religiously cleaned every day. The staff were truly incredible though, All in all- it felt like I was visiting family rather than staying in a hotel and that made it all the more special. Thank you for a wonderful stay

Room Tip: Room 430 the room we were in had a great view from the spacious balcony!

I have just returned from a restful, peaceful and relaxing stay at this hotel which I will definitely recommend to all my friends. The rooms are very spacious and modern and the view of Gozo and Comino is breathtaking and although my room was on the main road , once you close the door to the balcony you will not be disturbed by the noises that cars and coaches normally do. The room was air conditioned and the furniture sem to be brand new. The gourmet was very reasonable and plentiful both the buffet breakfast and buffet dinner. the staff especially those at the reception were very helpful an courteous. The swimming pools are clean and rather large the size of which you don't always find. Thanks to all those who have made my stay there a great success and you will definitely be meeting me again.

Some comments seem unjustified - we had a brilliant time so here are the plusses and minuses. Hotel is in a very remote location - we had only booked b&b as we like to eat out however there is nowhere to go unless you take a bus. The hotel is literally at the north of the island with no shops or restaurants at all. We therefore ate in the hotel restaurant every night and the food and choice was superb. The buffet was 19 euros - we ate three times in the a la carte which worked our cheaper. All rooms have a sea view - one side of the hotel overlooks the road and the ferry port the other over the beautiful fish shaped swimming pool which is immediately adjacent to the sea - far more picturesque. We asked to swap - the first receptionist told us it would be 16 euros per night but when we went to change the next day were told 20 euros. After a bit of fuss, we were given the 16 euros rate. The rooms are large, spacious, very clean and have tea making facilities. Also of huge importance to me (sadly) was that the hotel tv showed bbc1, bbc2, itv and Ch4 so it meant I didn't miss the final of The Great British Bake-off! The only annoying thing about the room was the safe - they actually charge you 17.5 euros (non-refundable) if you want to use it, which seems very steep and unfair. As a generality the staff initially appeared surly but without exception whatever I asked for was dealt with immediately. There were a lot of middle aged couples and a few families - I would say that if you had young children you might not find this the best place but for us we had a great time - you get what you pay for and although slightly anxious having read some of the reviews, we were pleasantly surprised and had a lovely time.

Room Tip: Ask to be overlooking the pool

We have been returning to this hotel at least twice a year since 2002 and have always experienced a very enjoyable stay and excellent value for money as must the other numbers of repeat guests this hotel attracts.

Some of the comments regarding this hotel would seem unjustified.

The hotel is located in a quiet picturesque setting in the north of Malta and is ideal for walkers etc. The hotel is at the sea edge and has beautiful sea and country views. Whilst in a quiet area the ferries for Gozo and Comino are on the doorstep as is an excellent bus service which takes you quickly to any part of the island.

We prefer the bay view rooms in the main hotel but all the rooms in the main hotel have been upgraded to a good standard and the size of rooms and balconies are far larger than in most hotels. The bay view rooms have lovely views of the bay and pool area and are only a few feet away from the sea - like being on a cruise ship! The sea view rooms are of the same quality and have views to Gozo and Comino. The budget rooms are what they are stated to be. Whilst basic and clean they mostly have good views and also enjoy all the facilities of the hotel. You get what you pay for!

There is an excellent choice of swimming pools compared with most hotels with a large outdoor swimming pool, 3 smaller outdoor pools and a large indoor pool probably the largest in Malta where you can actually have a good swim unlike many hotels where indoor pools are little more than a plunge pool.

We enjoy the large sun terraces which overlook the sea and bay. In season there is also a private beach with diving and water sports facilities.

The large dining room is well furnished and in a lovely setting. We find the food to be of a good standard with a wide choice at dinner to suit most tastes - there is no reason for anyone to go hungry at this hotel.

The hotel is some distance away from alternative bars, night clubs etc. but the hotel does provide in house entertainment most nights which we find very enjoyable. People should not expect cruise ship standard entertainment and not paying cruise ship prices. If people do want an hectic nightlife this hotel and indeed Malta is maybe not for you.

We find the staff fine and helpful. If people have occasion to have a problem which can occur in any hotel they are usually rectified quickly if justified and sometimes if unjustified. The hotel has the advantage of being family owned and they are always available if the need arises to resolve matters.

People need to bear in mind any hotel cannot please everyone all the time and anyone can have a off day and people do have different temperaments in different countries. Sometimes the attitude of a complainant does not help matters.

We and many other people find this hotel suits our needs and budget perfectly. If people researched before booking the country, hotel, location, facilities etc. in relation to their budget then dissatisfaction is usually avoided.

Match this hotel with your needs (including disabled ) and give it a try. I would be very surprised if you were disappointed.

Room Tip: pay the supplement for bay view or a sea view in the main hotel. Worth the difference

My friend and I stayed for two nights at the Paradise Bay Resort in Malta on our way to Gozo.
We got a good deal, the best in all of Malta and we loved it and wished we could stay longer. The rooms were huge and clean with a view. The food was the best we managed to get in Malta...there was salad and fresh food, not just pizza and spaghetti. The pool was beautiful and big and clean and the staff were helpful and friendly. Five stars from us.

Room Tip: We took the room offered and that is why is was cheaper, but we still had a view of the water but we...

I must have read all the wrong reviews when I booked this holiday, the cleaning what cleaning, we had many days when our beds were not made ,the cleaner did,nt know which way the sheets went in the bed we had to strip them and remake them, we were left with no towels no toilet rolls, the floors were rarely swept or washed the bedside mats are an accident waiting to happen I know the room was economy but should they be economy cleaning,
Head of house keeping needs to check some of these rooms, teach them to clean hand basins and wash around taps ,there was never a clean smell , why not use some nice smelling cleaning productsthe beds are very hard and uncomfortable even the thread bear carpet would have looked better if it had been vacuumed ,
food ,breakfast ok, dinner meats were very over cooked, gammon very over cooked and salty,
good food spoiled chef, Some staff ok ,
positives ,good pools, lovely views , and we like MALTA

Room Tip: do not book economy rooms worse than 2*

I am sorry to hear of your dissatisfaction and as far as your room is concerned the maid service and floor supervisor check is done daily unless you light the sign do not clean my room then you will not be disturbed. The maid has all replacement items on her trolley so they should have been replaced, I have no record of any dissatisfaction nor lack of service reported whilst you were in house. Yes I agree that our economy rooms are our older un-refurbished rooms hence that is why they are described as such and with a lesser rate. I am sorry should there have been incorrect service.
