We just came back from a week at this hotel and we felt the need to share our thoughts.

HOTEL & STAFF
- This hotel is not a 4 stars. It is most likely a 3 stars.
- Staff was overall friendly. We had a very noisy family and kids in the room above us, and reception called them in front of us to ask them to be quiet.
- Reception called us in our room to offer a wake up call the day we were leaving.
- The bus stops are directly in front of the hotel, which is very handy.
- Gozo ferry is at 5 minutes walk.
- The views from most rooms and restaurant are amazing.
- There is a shop next to the hotel that sells almost everything you need.
- There is a boat going to Comino in front of the hotel.
- Meliha is only 10/15 minutes away by bus.

RESTAURANT & DRINKS

- The buffet is really nice. The food is great and unlimited. It also changes every night. Of course, if they have some leftover deserts, they serve it the following day, which is completely understandable.
- Some of the people taking our plates weren't very polite: most of them didn't even say "sorry" and it felt a bit intrusive.
- Cocktails and coffee were cheap and very good.

SWIMMING POOLS

- As the water was a bit cold, we only used the indoor one.
- The indoor swimming pool is supposed to open at 8:00. To avoid kids, we went there at 8:15 but someone was still cleaning it. We waited until 08:30 and he simply left, leaving all his cleaning tools in the pool. We finally left at 08:45, and everything was still there.
- This pool wasn't always very clean, and would need better maintenance. But overall, it was warm enough and we enjoyed using it at least once a day.
- The spa pool is really cheap: 2 euros for 20 minutes.
- It looks like the sun beds haven't been cleaned, ever, as there are big black stains on most of them.
- The jetty was closed during our entire stay so we can't say if it was good, but it was beautiful.
- The hotel's private beach is very small and the view is on Gozo Ferry, so we used it only once.

ROOM

- We booked an economic room, and it was very spacious. Our view was on the road leading to the ferry and Comino and Gozo islands. There was a lot of traffic in the morning but the windows stopped most of the noise.
- There was some mold in the bathroom, and the window was facing the another bathroom's window in the room next door.
- The beds weren't very comfortable.
- TV in the room is very small and is an old CRT but had many international channels.

Overall, this is a good and cheap hotel, but not a 4 stars. Your stay is safe there if, like us, you just wanted a place to sleep and spend most of your time visiting the islands.

I thank you for reflecting your stay with us and for your assessment towards our hotel.
I am sorry to hear that you considered our staff were over friendly but we are a family owned hotel with a genuine bond between management, staff and guests.
I further thank you for your positive remarks in relation to our facilities and location.

I wasn't expecting too much given that this was one of the cheapest hotels I could find for a diving trip to Malta that had its own diving school. If you are a diver this hotel is perfect for it's proximity to the excellent Paradise Dive Centre.

Pros:
- Cheapest hotel in its star range around Mellieha
- Proximity to paradise diving centre
- Good sized salt water pool
- Other than some paint flaking off the wall, the room was very clean
- Good view of the sea from the room (WARNING: Make sure you don't get the cheapest rooms, they are in a very dodgy looking part of the hotel!)

Cons:
- The "new" part of the hotel has holes all over the hallway carpets
- Female reception staff extremely helpful but night male staff were extremely rude and unhelpful
- The free wi-fi is only available in the lobby and quickly becomes "full" during the evenings. It is also too slow to download from itunes.
- The restaurant food is categorically awful. Truly terrible. There were a few items that were delicious but on the whole it is extremely cheap and bad quality. For example, the rabbit stew consisted only of rabbit ears :-(
- The room cleaners did not replenish toilet paper or tissues. They also left my balcony door unlocked - extremely upsetting as a solo traveller.
- The room mattress and pillows had no protectors, just one sheet. Although clean these will soon become very unhygienic! Especially as the air conditioning was not very effective.

Overall, if the price was right and I wanted to go to the same dive centre I would stay here again, but only for the dive centre and the price. This is a hotel to spend minimal time in - so if you're staying here make sure you have plenty of activities away from the hotel!

Room Tip: Do not go for the cheapest rooms, they are in an old part of the hotel.

I thank you for posting your remarks in stating that we offered exceptional value for money and for agreeing that with have a superb location. Our economy rooms are as stated economy rooms that are offered at a lesser rate. I am sorry but we are unable to cook rabbit ears as there are none available.
The free Wi Fi in the lobby allows our guests to make contact with family and friends it is not meant for downloads but we do offer an exceptional rate for a much faster link.
The room attendants do have all replacement items on their trolleys and I am sorry to hear that any item was not replaced as there is no excuse. The mattresses and pillows both have covers before the sheet or pillow case is applied.

The hotel is solid. The interior is clean, functional, not spectacular. The suite room we had is spacious, the bay view is very nice, but the balcony had very old white plastic chairs. The room was adequately furnished, although the TV was placed in such a way you had to sit on the bed to watch, and couldn't watch from the couch.

The bath room was similar -- decent, but nothing more. It had a bath, the shower was in the bath (but if you want to stand upright you should be no taller than 1.70m (5' 7")).

Food was again, decent. Breakfast had everything you would expect, but nothing great. The automaton coffee was a notable exception, because it was really bad. I read some reviews you had to pay extra for fresh fruit, but this wasn't the case anymore. There were apples and oranges every day.

The buffet style dinner is also adequate, they label the vegetarian dishes and the food is hot. The service (you have to order your drinks) can be extremely slow however. One day we had our wine within a couple of minutes, another day it took more than 20 minutes to arrive.

The location is quite remote (but this is mentioned almost everywhere, so that shouldn't come as a surprise), the bus stops very close to the hotel and is cheap. Buses don't always take the most direct route, so renting a car might be a smart thing to do if you want to see a lot of things in a short time.

Close to the hotel is a small private beach, it is quite stoney though. Mellieha beach is however not far and easily reachable by bus. Google Maps knows about the public transport. The times on Maps did not match the timetable at the bus stop however. Because buses aren't always on time, I haven't been able to find out which one was right. For Mellieha beach this doesn't matter because the buses go really frequently.

Compared to other hotels I could find on Malta this hotel did seem to be good value for money. But note that you simply get what you order nothing more. Even for the suite you have to pay extra to use the safe, Wifi in the room is not included, the tea and instant coffee isn't free either.

During our stay there were many French visiting the hotel, even the entertainment one night was cabaret in French. Also, there are all-inclusive arrangements (we didn't have one) for this hotel, which makes for some people who want to get their money's worth.

Room Tip: Get a bay view room on a higher floor.

I thank you for your response towards the hotel and its services. It is correct that we are offering the services to which we are advertising and that the extras are available to those who wish to partake of them. I also thank you for acknowledging this fact and for appreciating good value for money as stated. Whilst there is the evening French cabaret to which all may attend there is also a live act of entertainment every night in English.

I have stayed in this hotel between 21st and 25th of May. I expected much more for a 4* hotel, even if the room is economy. Be aware if you are choosing a South Wing room, because the quality of these rooms is inferior. I have only noticed this when I got there. The room was a twin bed and smoker's room. We have complained to the reception, but they didn't even offer us the option to upgrade... They promised to put the two beds together as a double bed, but it never happened. TV doesn't work at all and it is a old one. Hotel staff didn't provide any help when asking for things to do in Gozo, because we got some bad weather and beach was not an option.

The hotel breakfast is OK and the dinner was good (the meat and pasta dishes). Drinks have to be payed separately, but in cash... can't add to your room account... this was not nice. However, you can bring your own wine and that is what we did. The room was cleaned everyday, but soap was not added. We have found a cockroach in the room on the last day (we have pictures to show).

Room Tip: Pay attention if your room is on the South Wing!

I thank you for your response and yes I agree that there is a substantial difference between the standards of our economy rooms and that of our standard rooms but there is also a substantial difference in the rate charged. We also do not have non-smoking room’s as these are impossible to control, we do however encourage our guest not to smoke in the bedroom but on the balconies.

Sorry to hear that your television did not work and I am sorry that you did not report it as such, as we would have changed it for you. I am also sorry that you had bad weather when you wished to go to the beach and were unable to ascertain what to do instead of going to the beach.
I do thank you for your positive remarks in relation tour food and it is true that wines are not included with the meals. Yes had you opened an account with the hotel all commodities from all departments could have been charged to your room account.

The photo that you have taken of the roach is one that happens occasionally as these creatures are native to hotter climates, there even a few in other parts of Europe including the UK.

We had enough time for walk in the country side. There is plenty of space to relax by the pools. the pools are very big. The food was amazing and plenty of choice and variety. It was definitely a great weekend to relax away from busy life style. we had a car and the closest village is only 7mins by car. the island of Gozo is only a boat trip away as is Comino.

Room Tip: Bay view rooms are quieter and the view of the pool and bay is much nicer

Not enough to do and too far away from the best part of the island - near Sliema and St Julians. ~The hotel was dominated by the French and Top Club. Very noisy and rude.

The staff too were largely students and had no experience. They did improve. We were there for three weeks and by th eend the Staff in the bar did manage a smile. The Reception staff were very helpful and they had to be. We had to ask for new beds three times. The room was Economy so we did not expect too much, it was small but clean and plenty of storage space. There is not enough to do at the hotel for those who do not want games and yoga. The hotel public rooms and swimming pools are very good. However would not go again and would not recommend it.

Room Tip: Do not go economy room, the other choice is classic and then suites etc. Most rooms have a view of t...

I am sorry to hear of your dissatisfaction and that you thought that there was not enough for you to do within our hotel as we operate with 5 swimming pools, a Blue Flag sandy beach with a water sports and diving school, a tennis court, a multipurpose sports court, hotel animation and over 600 sun beds to lounge upon.
The hotel’s location is well advertised as we are secluded but have regular transport to all areas of the Island. I am also very sorry to hear that you found some of our staff not as you had expected and perhaps not as they should have been and I shall be speaking with our staff in relation to this issue.
I do however thank you for your appreciation of the cleanliness and storage space within our economy rooms .
