This is definitely worth a visit just to see how people had to live during WW2 and how often Malta was bombed. The guide told us there were 46 of these shelters in Melihia alone and 800 over the entire island.

Very interesting place to visit. The guy who works there (Joseph) is full of knowledge.
Highly recommended to go.
The mannequins that represent the maltese who were hiding in tunnels were a little disturbing and little children might be scared

Mellieha air raid shelter is interesting. Quite a long walk not suitable for people with disability. You can take photos. If you go near closing time the gentleman on the door will give you a guided tour. Well worth a visit.

Been to Malta before but never been here it is really worth a visit and very thought provoking.
Very cheap to enter and the lovely man on the door is worth having a chat with he was around during the war and told us some stories

on a recent trip to Malta, we visited this air raid shelter. Our guide had had to spend many days in these during the intense bombing of the 2nd world war. He was aged 8 then.
His memories were vivid and interesting.
Keep the memories alive by visiting and absorbing.

Enjoyed learning about Mellieha in WWII and visiting this carefully preserved site. The gentleman on the door was happy to chat about local history, attitudes to Christianity and anything Malta. He added to our visit. Don’t miss the interesting mural on the walls and stairs on the way up to the door.

Interesting to see how cramped the conditions were. Tunnels are well kept and it’s cheap to see. Doesn’t take very long to do the tour but if you want to see a little bit of history it’s worth a view. Donations help keep the place going so please donate if you do.

This is well intact and gives you a small insight into what it must have been like being down in the damp, cold shelters whilst bombing was going on overhead. There was lots of information and props which added to the experience.

Excellent value, truly a gem. The curator was friendly and helpful. Glad we put this on our itinerary.
