great place, great views over the harbour. Freindly staff. Apartments large & airy . Good facilities in resort. Liked the two pools one more quiet than the other. Chose the quiet one to relax & read ......just blue skirs & the birds singing. Wonderful place to realy relax for a week.. Good places to eat out in locality

Room Tip: choose a room with a harbour view ...its a great view ...watching the boats coming and going

We returned last friday from a weeks holiday at The Hollywood Mirage Club.We had a one bedroom apartment which had plenty of room for the three of us. Our son was with us,who hired a car from the airport. The resort is on a steep hill overlooking Los Cristianos. We had a brilliant view from the apartment down to the sea and harbour.we did not use the pool because we would rather swim in the sea,but could see that there were plenty of loungers around the pool. There was excellent entertainment in the evening in the bistro which started at 9.30.p.m. The apartment was very clean, comfortable and well furnished, the only complaint I had was that the pillows were hard, but got used to them.We thoroughly enjoyed the holiday and would not hesitate to stay there again in future.

We are a couple in our 70's and stayed at the Hollywood Mirage on our Honeymoon last June (2012). I mention our age because a number of folks have mentioned that the resort is situated on a hilltop. On a couple of occasions we walked down into town and back, but mostly we used the free shuttle which runs every hour from the resort down to the beach and the Old Port, returning on the same schedule. The last bus, as I recall it was about 7 PM, perhaps not late enough for folks wanting to eat downtown. However there are a number of very good and reasonable priced restaurants within walking distance. And, if I may say so, we were quite pleased with the food and drink and prices for the same right at the hotel. I believe we took three of our seven dinners there and spent under $50 for the two of us on each occasion.

I would also suggest that the reader consider renting a car. We rented from Autoreisen(Autoreisen.com), right at the airport and paid a total of 63 Euro's for the week's rental (with all-inclusive insurance) and had a 4-door Ford Fiesta, getting 40 miles to the gallon. We arrived at the north airport (about 60 miles from Los Christianos where the hotel is located) because our airfare was significantly less flying in there than the South airport which was closer to the resort. Autoreisen has a location at the South airport as well. Fuel ranged from less than a Euro per liter to to about 1.25 per liter. We saw that variation on the road while traveling to the resort and planned accordingly for our fill-up at trip's end.

The Hollywood Mirage Club is a real four-star place (enjoys the highest "Crown" rating that RCI bestows) with a wide range of amenities. The great restaurant offers nightly entertainment at 8 PM. Our one-bedroom unit had a full modern kitchen (stainless steel and granite) with full amenities needed for cooking. We did not cook, but did buy the makings for breakfast at the grocery store in the resort each day. We found those prices to be quite reasonable as well. Since we rented a car for the wee, we toured other areas on Tenerife including a drive up the West coast to visit interesting towns, some with black volcanic sand beaches) and took the trip by car to visit the highest point in Spain (El Tiede, an extinct volcano on Tenerife). When you travel in the back country be prepared for narrow roads with many switchbacks to handle the changes in altitude. Careful, defensive driving is the order of the day, and a compact vehicle is a necessity for easing your mind on the narrow roads. There are four different climate zones on Tenerife, but the temperatures at Los Christianos were pretty much in the high 70's (F) day and night.

It was a wonderful place to visit and very pleasant place to stay. The staff were terrific, and very accommodating. We would return there in a heartbeat!

We exchanged RCI points for a week in a one bedroom apartment and thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The apartment was clean, comfortable and well furnished in the Grace Kelly block overlooking the smaller pool. The staff in reception were warm and friendly, the housekeepers cheerful and efficient. We found all we needed in the supermarket on site and twice enjoyed the special offer chicken and a bottle of wine for 5.25 euros . The resort is at the top of a hill but we did not find it a problem and there are lifts to the apartments so it was easy to cope.

The only downside was the 2 hours we spent being bombarded by the Silverpoint representatives trying to get us to sell our RCI and purchase their points - however, we got a 'free' bottle of wine and a wilverpoint discount card for our inconvenience but I would advise anyone visiting to give this miss! They tell you they are coming to your apartment for a 'few minutes' and then take you down to their office for 30 minutes and then it takes about 90 minutes to actually get away from the hard sell.

Room Tip: Try the Grace Kelly block overlooking the small pool

Hollywood Mirage has wonderful facilities and reception staff always helpful, polite and friendly. We own a week in October but wanted to come back for the Easter break. We booked through Silverpoint Resorts (795 Euros) for a two bedroom unit but I feel the master bedrooms ensuite was tiny! Our unit in October is also a 2 bedroom but along with a double balcony our unit appears bigger than some other units. Staff at Supermarket, pool and Spa all equally pleasant and helpful. The pool bar has changed hands and the old faces have been replaced with new ones! I think they might be experiencing some teething problems as food not quite up to scratch. Go and enjoy, we did!!

I will start off with the downside - As others have said you need to be active and expect hill climbing. This resort is at the top of Los Cristianos. We hired a car and used it to get around. A simple trip to the supermarket and bars down the hill is tiring and difficult if you are not fit and active. The resort is very well looked after with clean and tidy grounds and a credit to the staff. We stayed in a 2/4 apartment. The bathroom was spacious and modern. Shower over bath with plenty of hot water. Two sinks. No concerns about room cleanliness or standard of fitments, Bed settee in lunge area with one chair. Small table with 3 chairs against the wall. Adequate kitchen area to prepare meals although we only ate breakfast and prepared salads in our room. A large fridge with freezer compartment for ice. The balcony had two sun bed recliners and a table with 4 chairs. It was just big enough and although there were only two of us it would be cramped with 4 persons. The bedroom had enough wardrobe space and hangers. There was no dressing table but plenty of mirrors and two hair driers. The sections of the resort are named after Hollywood stars. We stayed in Greta Garbo. Each area has a lift so once you arrive panting at the ground floor you don't have to walk up the stairs. The flat screen TV has BBC1 / ITV, Sky News, CBeebies. The area is very quiet although you do rely on your neighbours being quiet. I thought the staff were efficient but could have volunteered more information. i.e. when I asked where to park our car we were merely told to look outside. We were not informed of a pedestrian access to the streets to save our legs on a walk to the supermarket and bars down the hill. The pool area was large but very busy with the usual groups reserving areas early in the morning. There is a smaller pool area which was not so busy. We did not eat at the resort or use the supermarket as there were others nearby cheaper. Good offer of roasted chicken and a bottle of wine for 5 Euros at the supermarket. Extras - Wifi 6E per day or 12E per device for the week. Safe 12 E per week, Gym 15E per week including towel. Free bus service to town which we did not use due to having a car.
Air con did not appear to be working (only a fan). Possibly because it was 26 degrees and controlled from reception. A touch too hot in the room sometimes. Only found 1 cockroach in the room for the week! We did not get any hassle from the timeshare reps which as far as we were concerned was good news. I would recommend staying here if you can overcome the location.

When I say at the top of the hill I am not joking. It was the very top complex in the area cut into a rocky hillside or "mountain" might be more like.

We went to the Hollywood Mirage on a promotional week. For this we had to go to a presentation about "timeshare or holiday ownership" which ever you like to call it. The apartment was very clean and spacious with a a modern kitchen, large bathroom, bedroom with plenty of wardrobe space, a dining area and lounge. The balcony was only average in size and looked on to the road into the complex but that did not bother us and we could see when it was time for the courtesy bus to arrive due to the guests starting to wait for the bus. The free bus took you into Las Americas every 30-40 minutes dependant on traffic from 10.00am to 7.00pm and to Los Christianos on Sunday for the market.

There was entertainment every evening in the bar/restaurant which was just off the reception area.

There were restaurants and supermarkets nearby but they were all down hill so consequently it was uphill on the return journey. For this reason only we would not stay there again because it is too hilly for us now. In our younger days it would have been ok.

You have access to their other complexes - Beverley Hill Heights and Beverley Hills Club which you can access from Hollywood Mirage as they are linked by road or bridges and they are down the hill.

Room Tip: Top floor has brilliant views over Los Christianos.
