“Adequate; better nearby”
Reviewed February 19, 2013

Stayed in a 2 bed, ground floor apartment overlooking the tennis court and road; a little noisy but mostly from other guests. Facilities were average, although we all found mattresses too hard and bedding not great. Slight problem with water pressure from en-suite bathroom sink taps; shower was fine. Entertainment was what you'd expect really; a little hit and miss but fun when you return after a good meal and drinks. Gym not up to much but better at one of the other Silverpoint resorts close by if you want a decent workout. Pool area clean and sunbeds plentiful, even though many reserved early on in the day; maybe a problem in peak periods. Plenty of food and drink options on the way down to the town; nearest beach a good stroll, maybe a mile or so. Enjoyed our stay but believe the 2 other resorts in the group, further up the hill, BH Heights and Hollywood Mirage, better options.

Room Tip: No choices given as we were on an RCI exchange.

We came across this hotel through Ola Holidays. I spoke to a very friendly agent who searched and searched for our first christmas holiday as a married couple. We got married in June 12. Our honeymoon destination hotel was okay. The agent at Ola holidays spoke highly of this resort. He even said that he'd stayed near there. They told us it was a 4* resort but on the entrance of the resort it had 3*.

It was a very expensive holiday as we book in November but we were promised sunshine and a holiday to remember. Sunshine we got and some great memories!!!!!

Having read reviews before booking we were a little apprehensive. We were not put off by the mention of stairs, or that the resort is on top of a hill. We are young and are training for a marathon in Barcelona in March 13 so we didn't mind. We didn't even notice the shuttle to Los Cristianos as we never used it. Its a gentle walk down through a nice street with a little park in the middle with palm trees. The beach near the hotel is fine. The resort is in a very busy part of Tenerife and its always buzzing with young and old people. It had 2 swimming pools and sports facilities which we didn't use as they were extra. If you've paid over £500 per person for a 7 night stay (self catering) these facilities should be free...... but not this one there was a charge. We preferred to exercise outdoors. One day we got a bus to Los Gigantes and found a natural swimming pool by the sea.....by the side of these huge cliffs (better than the swimming pool)... it was excellent.

Mount Teide is a must when you are in Tenerife. We hired a car so we were able to see a bit more compared to organised tours but the guides have much more knowledge and would recommend for some of the tours.

Those are some of our highlights of the trip. The negatives include the fact that Ola holidays sold this as a 4* resort. Well, the hotel should know it and be proud and display it. The staff are friendly but they don't go out of their way to help you. We asked for a top floor apartment but we were given an apartment with a view of another apartment. We had also requested a sea view or swimming pool. The resort didn't appear full when we arrived and we did notice that there were some apartments on higher floors that were vacant. The staff at reception couldn't be bothered to check the system.

The guy in the supermarket was rude the 2 times when we went to buy a few bits for breakfast.

The cleaners knocked the room and walked in. They didn't wait to make sure that there was no one inside.

Overall, I would return to Tenerife but not to this resort. There are some other beautiful resorts in Tenerife. Beverly heights looked nice..

The resort is clean and the white stone finish makes it look lovely.

As its self catering, be aware of the bag of water and a brush left in the kitchen costing 5 euros. use it and it will be charged to your room.

Overall we really enjoyed Tenerife.

Room Tip: Higher rooms have a better view of Los Cristianos

My wife and I accepted a telephone offer of a week at BHC for 155euro, being well aware of the persuational skills of the promotion staff. Our studio apartment was on the ground floor, saving us the stress of negotiating the many stairways at the complex, but then we also missed the beautiful sea view of the higher levels. The room was fair enough though the bed matresses were far too hard for our liking. The TV-set worked well with something like 30 different channels in all the main languages, none scandinavian though. Instead we used the DVD-player and our own DVDs. We also brought with us our PC, but at the extra charge of 24 euro for a week we let this rest.
2 pools with reasonably warm water secured a good swim after active days. We did not test the inhouse eating places.
The promotion bit took well over 5 hours of our time and plenty of effort to explain why we would not accept their deal of time.sharing.

My wife and I went on a weeks holiday here after being contacted and offered a weeks promotional holiday at a cost of £59. A condition of the holiday is to attend a presentation of the benefits of the Silverpoint Holiday Club in full for a morning or afternoon. We arrived on the Friday evening. Our apartment was a one bedroom with a sea view balcony, nice kitchen and bathroom, satellite TV etc. Had a nice week as the pool was just a few yards from our apartment door and got the sun most of the day. The club is at the top of a hill and is about a 15 minute walk to the beach downhill but slightly longer on the return journey. There are plenty bars, restaurants and supermarkets in the vicinity of the club. There is entertainment on every night except Friday and it is what you would expect some of it good and some not so. We went for the half-board option at £80 each for the week. The restaurant is a bit cafe style as is the food but what is served is generally good and in good quantities. There is a gym, tennis court, squash courts, table tennis and a pool table on site although we didn't use most of these facilities. There is wifi at a cost of €25 for the week, however it is very slow, can only be used on one device and keeps dropping out when not actively used. I did raise this with reception but it did not improve. There is also a courtesy bus which takes you to Playa de Los Americas from the club which runs every 45 mins or so.
Now for the promotional presentation from Silverpoint....this was made with the rep for 1.30pm on the Monday. We already own a weeks timeshare in the UK so wasn't really that interested in buying anything else. The presentation went on for almost five hours. We were shown the other resorts adjacent to the BHC but the cost was too high and didn't give us any benefits. We were then spoken too by one of the managers who offered to take our timeshare in exchange for a week at the Mirage club if we purchased another weeks timeshare and rented it back to them for two years and then sold it back to Silverpoint. Sounded a bit too good to be true and in my experience it usually is. We parted our ways after making the mistake of showing a wee bit interest. We were given the guilt approach (we have paid for your holiday etc.), don't do this again as it effects people's earnings, it's a yes or no not a maybe etc. All high pressure selling techniques. We were also contacted two days later and asked to go back into their office again to complete a questionnaire which was obviously a ploy to try and progress the sales pressure with us. We ignored this request as we had completed the condition of the holiday. I had also done a bit of research with other reviewers and it is apparent that many promises made here are not kept and the tactics used are common to many others attending these presentations. So beware of attending these promotional holidays and realise what you will be subjected to.

We were invited on a free promotional trip to Beverley Hills Club and we knew exactly what we were signing up to before we went.
We have visited the resort previously with friends and felt at home as soon as we arrived.
The apartment was ideal with a view over the pool and a balcony that had the sun all through the day.
We played tennis every day and used the pool and sunbeds. We were quite lucky with the weather and that makes all the difference.
The presentation was fine and Adam Felli showed us around the resort plus some other really nice apartments. He covered all the bases and offered some good local knowledge including some great restaurants. No pressure to buy and we left after our presentation best of friends.
The resort is fine and the entertainment is plentiful and if it doesn't suit then there is plenty on offer around the area.
How anyone can complain about a free week is beyond belief.

Just back from Beverly Hills Club where my wife, 2 daughters and I spent a week courtesy of Silverpoint. We underwent the obligatory hard sell for 4 hrs and these guys try every angle possible to get you to sign up, we didn't and the salesman didn't seem to happy by that, left us to find our own way out of the sales area and back to our hotel. The apartments are very good, we had a 2 bed room with a view overlooking the pool but no sunshine which was a real disappointment, in fact at this time of year the pool area doesn't get a lot of sunshine therefore we spent all our days at the beach.

Our first whole day was a let down, the room safe failed to open, after contacting admin someone came to repair it, he was barely out of the apartment when it failed again, back he came, repaired it and it failed again 2 days later, we just left it and kept our valuables with us. We had noticed a smell of sewage as we entered the apartment on day 1 it then became apparent that one of the WHB's was blocked and this was the problem, again no problem getting it tended too. The air-con never worked at all even after someone had been to sort it while we were out, to be honest, after seeing how much dirt was in the vents I decided it was better not to use it. We sat down to have a glass of wine only to find the glasses were stained, all in all, not a great advert when someone is trying to sell you the product. It didn't stop there, on day 1 myself and my girls selected sun beds, put our towels on them and had a seat, we had to go back to the room and get there ipods, cash etc from the safe, as mentioned the safe failed, while being in attendance as the safe was repaired twice, the pool attendant removed our towels and gave the sunbeds we had fetched from a shaded area to a Spanish family, I tried to speak to her and explain the situation and she just didn't want to know, I spoke to the manager who came back with some rule about booking beds with towels being banned, which I agree with but I had to go through the whole point that we were waiting for the safe to be opened and someone to clear the blocked WHB. We spoke to another couple who told us they had a similar situation, they'd been poolside, went for lunch at the Cafe area, came back and there towels were gone.

Entertainment was a hit or miss when it was on, Rock DJ was good, just a pity that so few people turned up to see him. The resort could really do with a restaurant, what it has is really a outdoor cafe area with a bar, the food is fine and is freshly cooked.

I would also warn anyone going to the resort to check how high up your rooms are, we needed hiking boots and an oxygen supply, seriously, the place isn't suitable for the infirm unless you can get a ground floor room.

The resort has a superb gymnasium and sports area if you want that type of holiday, pool towels are free and exchanged midweek. The porters were also very helpful at moving cases and storing them on arrival and prior to leaving.

Room Tip: Double check the room location, many of the rooms are very high up and no lifts are available.

We chose BHC as we have stayed before and were very pleased but in our opinion it has gone downhill very fast. We tried to eat in the restaurant and after waiting over 45 minutes to be acknowledged my wife asked if we could get served he said wait a minute then went off and served another table who came in after us! so we left. There are some very good restaurants nearby which I would recommend. The night club has gone and it's now a disco! It's OK if you have children with you but certainly not for adults. We have been there and not able to get a seat, you now have a choice plus there used to be 4/5 behind the bar, one can cppe easy now. We had to pay 137euros as a guest which is a ripoff so we wont be doing that again. The complex is difficult if you are elderly or disabled and a long walk from the town and all uphill! The restaurant staff certainly have an attitude problem. Dont get me wrong the place is OK but the standards have dropped. Would I go back? no I dont think so unless there are changes.
