Situated deep up a mountain valley, well away from the tourist traps of the coast, Palmitos Park is a superb days out. Set on a gentle slope up the hill side, you work your way round the stunning vegetation and see plenty of animals. This isn't a typical tacky tourist zoo, but a top notch, professional place, with experienced staff and superb shows, esp the dolphin show. The zoo isn't cheap and you should book online to avoid the queues, but as it makes for at least a 5 hour visit it is well worth the visit. There as an excellent bus service up the valley from the station in Puerto Rico.

This park i a excellent place to go on a day that's a little cloudy. You walk upwards, so it can get hot. bring your own beverages, as it's a little expensive to both drink and eat at some of the cafès... catch the bird show at the top! we were there for the hawk/eagle show. GREAT! it's well worth the money, and you get tourist discounts for the park a lot of places. so if you're planning to go, make sure to keep your eyes and ears open for discounts :)

Unlike my review of Aqualand just down the road which was awful, this place couldn't be more different, clean, interesting, nice staff, good food and most importantly a wide range of animals which are clearly very much looked after.
Went with my wife for what I thought would be a normal freak zoo visit but actually was sad to leave. The shows were entertaining and informative and really liked the raptor show as they let these huge eagles just fly off for a while - then they came back after spearing high in the sky, now I reckon if they were not happy then they would not return. Dolphin show superb, restaurant food well priced and quick with happy staff ! Simples
Looking forwards to the management here buying out Aqualand and showing them how to run a well organised visitor attraction without making your guests feel ripped off! Well done Palmitos park really good effort.
