“Amazing place”

It looks a bit pricy at 29 euro, but you can enjoy yourself all day here. The green park is beautifully situated in the hills and very well kept. Enjoy the bird shows and the dolphin show.

“Oasis in the hills”
Reviewed March 17, 2013

Excellent must see dolphin show was the highlight of our visit.
All aspects of Palmitos Park were a real pleasure to stroll around. The beautiful grounds and scenery are a delight; but of course the birds and animals are your reason for being there.
A variety of timetabled displays occur through the day so it is a good idea to plan your activities accordingly. Maybe arrive early to see the morning ones as there is a bit of a lul over lunchtime.
The admission price is high. You are advised to find discount vouchers etc.

“One of a kind?”
Reviewed March 16, 2013

Price is somewhat off-putting (29 Euros for 1 adult), but we ended up spending 6 full hours at the park, and that just blew by. The place is scenic beyond belief, with mountains on either side and immensely well kept. Birds are the big thing here. Flamengos, pelicans, vultures, falcons, oustrichs, and of course the big attraction in the eagles.

The park itself is very very nice in itself for walking around in, and the kids loved it. The big things are the shows. We saw the wild bird show, the dolphin show and the parrot show. The wild birds show was fantastic. Have never seen an eagle up close like that - immensely impressive. The same with the other prey birds. Only issue there were the showmaster who repeatedly at full volume shouted "attention please, on your right hand side...". Over enthusiastic. Yeah maybe. Annoying: absolutely. Didn't ruin the experience though.

Dolphin show was impressing. My personal attitude towards this grooming of wild animals to perform tricks etc. is not favorable (especially the trick where the dolphins waves bye-bye to the audience is in poor taste IMO). The prey bird session was fantastic and unique precisely because you saw then in the natural habitat. That said, a dolphin show is always like that and given this, this was very impressive. Kids loved its.

The kids dug the parrot show as well - driving bikes, using slides etc. Good fun, and impressive. These are not amateur shows. They're very very good.

The (big) dent in the armour is the restaurant. At this remote location the restaurant has no competition apart from a picnic bag which is not that attractive on a hot day. We were 5 - the two kids had fries and what can go wrong there? Adults had a salad - ok but anonymous, a completely forgettable pizza and then the prize: The worst burger in the world, nothing less. The texture of the meat is close to undescribable. It was chewy, had big bone fragments, and looked nothing like minced meat of any animal I've had before. It had my stomach turning, and was not for human consumption. On top of this, the price was rather high.

The restaurant pulls Palmitos Park down to 4 of 5. If not for the food it would have been full house. Go there. Bring your own food.

“mind the wind”
Reviewed March 15, 2013

Nicely situated amongst hills close to Maspalomas, but a bit pricey for what it offers - it's basically a bird zoo with dolphin show on the side. The bird show which we especially wanted to see was canceled for a whole day (due to windy weather) without any warning at the ticket stand.
