Just got back today after a weeks stay. had an apartment upstairs with more privacy. huge bolcany room for 3 loungers plus table and chairs. Had a child pool plus a large clean pool for the adults. the food was fine. We found all the staff very pleasent and helpfull.we stayed in room 239 and the cleaning was excellent all the staff worked hard and most spoke english. we have stayed at a lot of all inclusive hotels over the years and we would give this hotel 4 out of 5 good value for the money we paid and we met a lot of good people even had a great time with a german couple. you dont get that very often. Well worth the money for a rellaxing holiday. would go back again.

Honestly and truthfully - this hotel is abysmal. I have no idea why people are giving the property positive reviews?

We managed to escape to a normal hotel after only a couple of days. This only cost a few pounds extra, so the "Oasis" isn't even a real money saver.

What can you expect, if you choose to stay here?

A small, run-down hotel, set amongst wasteland and half-abandoned projects. Each time you arrive at the "Oasis", you will feel a dread and gloom descend upon you. All around the area, there are lovely looking hotels, with nice grounds. Please, please go to one of them instead.

The reception area is small and dingy. Here you will find a list of all the things you can hire for your room and the cost is not cheap. Your room if you don't hire equipment, will be stripped completely of even the merest hint of luxury, will be dirty, have unsafe stairs and a claustrophobic and hot bedroom. The sheets will have holes in them. The towels will have faint stainage, from previous users.

If you are on the pool level, you will basically share the front of your room with neighbours each side and sunlounger guests. There is absolutely no privacy at all. If you have a mental breakdown and can't escape from the "Oasis", then try to get one of the upper floor rooms. They will be equally basic beyond belief, but you will have some respite from the noise and a bit of privacy.

The food is utterly appalling. It really is. If you are happy to eat chips, or baked beans on toast all holiday - then you'll be ok. Everything else is terrible. Some items were even unidentifiable.

Catering on a budget I can understand. But for breakfast, three of the choices were scrambled eggs, bolied eggs or scrambled eggs. Yes, three of the self serving options were eggs each day. Little cocktail sausages, wafer thin bacon and beans made up the other options.

The cereal is just budget stuff, served with warm milk that smelled slightly off. The coffee is from a cheap machine and tastes horrible. Fruit juices also come out of a machine and are grossly sweet and heavily concentrated.

We sort of gave up on the food, after watching a massive coackroach crawl slowly across the eating area with something blue stuck to it. The catering staff merely walked around this creature. Other holidaymakers saw it and looked away.

The beer is alright, but all other alcoholic drinks are undrinkable. Seriously, the spirits are very, very cheap and the mixers are unfizzy and just made from a combination of local water and syrup. Yuk! The wine may be ok, but we didn't attempt it?

The snacks were thin slivers of cake, left out in the sun and uncovered. Hmmm...

Vague attempts are made at keeping the pool clean and I couldn't find any evidence of an adequate filtration system. There is a layer of sun cream and oil on the surface of the water and early each morning, someone ran a hose all the way around and brushed the debris back into the pool.

The place is a health hazard and we had upset stomachs while there. As we were leaving, a family were complaining of feeling sick. The youngest child and mother had already vomitted in the early hours. That could be unrelated - but who knows?

Our new accommodation had the following - which you had to pay for, or were absent at the "Oasis".

Television (flat screen with 79 channels), clean sheets, air-conditioning, clean wardrobe space, private balcony, toaster, coffee maker, microwave, clean pool, nice food, international brands of soft drinks and alcohol, cutlery, pots and pans, clean cups and glasses, a bottle opener, comfortable sofa and chairs, daily and friendly cleaners, large reception, spa and jacuzzi.

It cost £70 more than the "Oasis" for the week. The air-conditioning unit at the "Oasis" costs 60 Euros...

Please don't stay at this place. For your health and your sanity. You deserve better...

After reading very mixed reviews we were not sure what to expect, however some people expect top notch at rock bottom prices. Ok drinks not fantastic but we managed. Food was fine, always choice, variety, yep even the fussy one of our group and the kids all managed to survive! Rooms were ok, maybe due for a make over but hey it's only a base, and to be honest did not spend that much time in the room. Pool great, kids spent endless hours having fun. Staff work so hard, ok may be a little miserable every now and then, but we all have our "off" days! Beach is lovely, water park great. Hotel a bit out of the way, but nice walks or cheap taxis readily available. Small complex met a lot of lovely people, everyone seemed to get on. Alfredo the entertainer lovely guy, works hard. Day time activities great, but a bit poor in the evening. Any how go with an open mind, your holiday is what you make it. Our party of 8 had a fab time. Oh just noisy early morning when staff doing cleaning around bar and pool.

Had a lovely holiday in maspalomas although the hotel was little to be desired. The accommodation was basic and the food was basic too, how ever the beach and surrounding shopping centres were better to go n get your food. Sad though how so skint and unhappy the people are there which made the holiday a bit dampened.

We have just got back from a 10 night stay and overal had a good time
The place itself is good and clean
The negatives were they did not have air con in the rooms and it was very hot.
You can hire a fan but they were not very good
You can hire air con units but at over 60 € we got a fan
The rooms were clean and so was the pool area(you have to remember that it's some lazy guests who do not use the bins and not the hotel though they did go round cleaning)
We had a day at aqua land which was good and it was only a 4€ taxi ride each way
I would recommend a day at port Morgan on a Friday when they have the market.we used the bus service to get there which was 4.50€ single and we came back on a boat to Porto RICO and then bus to maspalomas
The food was edible with a satisfactory selection though having fish available each day did smell out the restaurant
We only stayed 1 evening at the place and it was when they had the quiz night which I can't complain about as we won a bottle of champers :-)
Overall we defianataly got what we paid for
The place could do with a couple behind the bar though to avoid the queues ,and make sure you are in the queue befor it closes in good time for your last drink of the night because whether you are in the queue or not the bar WILL close bang on time.
As a whole we would recommend and we would go back in the future :-)
