I stayed here with my family for the 2nd week of our recently holiday. We moved to the Maspalomas area to be near to the dunes/ beach for the kids (10 & 8). I found this complex overall pretty good. The pool and surrounding are was clean and tidy and relatively quiet. The apartment was fairly basic but adequate for our needs. The furnishings were looking tired and dated, however it was clean and the housekeeping service couldn't be faulted.

Unfortunately, first impressions last and ours was not good. On arrival, the male receptionist simply looked up at us (as we humfed our bags in off the street), smiled and walked away. He was eventually replaced by a blond haired female (no name tag worn) who didn't smile, say hello or attempt to engage us in any way. On confirming our room number, she just pointed towards to pool and uttered something similar to ‘that way’ before getting up, walking away and sitting down at a nearby desk where she continued to watch tv. Not good. I have to say that the majority of the other staff were friendly enough during the time we were they, however I never saw the blond female smile once during the entire time of our stay.

Other things that detracted from our stay here was that you had to pay a 20 Euro deposit to get the remote control for the air conditioning, the tv had no remote control and you had to pay for wifi that only worked in the reception area. The walls were very thin, so you could hear almost everything from the apartment next door. The staff also refused to order taxis for us, albeit complex is located on a busy road, but that is not the point. Refused to eat here as the food looked average to say the least.

The complex is about 30 mins walk from the beach/ shops etc and a taxi usually cost 4-5 E’s.

I would not stay here again, but have given this place 3 stars due to the pool area.

Room Tip: try ti get an 'end terrace' apartment - less noise that way

When we arrived it was in the middle of the night,we collected the keys from the reception and was told how to get to our room.It was dark so we were unable to get a good view of the area so we went straight to bed. We were looking forward to a lie in the next morning but we were awoken to a pinging sound,we thought the sound would stop after a few minutes and we could return to sleep but the sound kept going on and on.I checked the time it was 8am. I looked out the windows and couldn't believe my eyes we were right beside a tennis club. When we had booked the hotel we had requested a room with a pool view. We complained about this at reception and was told that the hotel was fully booked and they were sorry there was nothing they could do. When we were sunbathing outside our room we had to put up with the constant noise and sunbathing in fear or being hit by a tennis ball as the balls were coming over the fence and landing beside me or on me.My advice to anybody who is thinking of staying in this hotel is to make sure you have a room with a pool view.Apart from that I could not fault the hotel in any other way. The rooms were spacious and clean, the pool was great and the staff was friendly. There was a small shop, bar and restaurant just outside the hotel. There was also a bus stop and taxi rank nearby. Maspalomas beach and Playa De Inglas was just a short bus ride away. The hotel was also in a very quiet location. There was also a shopping centre nearby that had a various selection of bars, shops and restaurants and there was also an amusement park for kids. Apart from the tennis club we enjoyed our stay in Maspalomas.

The two last weeks in march, me and my wife visit this place. It was a pleasent time.
Everything needed for a couple in the mid fifties was present.
We got a apartment at the backside, with a view over a tenniscourt and a paintballarena. Not a very beautiful view, but who cares..:-) It was quiet area except during daytime when we heard the players.. We had sun from early morning to abour five, six in the afternoon.
The poolarea was very nice with a really luxius overflow pool.
The staff was very nice and helpfull, no complaints with cleaning...and no bugs :-)
Five minutes walk to the nearest supermarcado and ten minutes to Faro 2.
A long walk uphill to PDI and also a long walk to Faro lighthouse. Thank God for cheap taxi, only €3-4.
They had themenights three evienings/week. Very good food and nice but simple entertainment.

Ok, the positives first:

Quite roomy and well equipped (kettle, coffe machine, toaster, microwave) bungalows, one bungalow slept 2 adults and 3 kids comfortably.

Nice staff

Breakfast, good value.

OK location

And for the negatives:

A bit tired and run down. The jacuzzi for example have seen better days, the furniture in the bungalows needs replacing. Burn marks on the chair, drawers with cracks, sofa with large tears on the seat cushion (both sides, lol). Cheapest brand microwave thats barely working. Separately these details might not be an issues but combined they paint a rather tired and shabby image of the bungalows.

The view. We had bungalows facing a concrete wall with a noisy street on the other side. No pictures on those bungalows on their website, whonder why? We were on a package holiday and the other guests checking in at the same time also got these concrete wall facing bungalows. When asked if we could change the reply was that they were fully occupied. Ok, of course i dont have access to their booking system but he place didnt even seem half full. The only time when you saw more then 15-20 guests were at breakfast. I guess the nice bungalows are reserved for the timeshare owners.

84 bungalows and one restaurant but only ONE highchair/child seat. Yeah, thats true. They told us that. I guess they dont want bussiness from families.

The cleanliness of the bungalows wasnt that good. On the wall leading up to the roof window there were dust and cobweb and in the little nooks and crannys there was quite a lot of dust as well. And the floor wasnt that well swept either. When i put away some stuff on the top of the cabinets in the kitchen i found a thick layer of dust.

And for the more serious issue, safety. The "playground" was a disgrace. If you want your kids to have wooden splinters under their skin then go ahead and let them play at the "playground". And even if it would be safe its quite a stretch to call it a playground. They should rebuild it or remove it.

In one of the bungalows there was a hole in the lightswitch big enough to fit whatever a child think fits there. Fortunatly the kids stayed in the other bungalow.

Besides all this our tour operator described this place as a "property where the entire family can enjoy themselves". Lol, if they dont need to sit down during meals and if they run around with protective gear on maybe. I'm allready writing a complaint to our tour operator.
