Just returned from 2 weeks there with Thomsons as a self catering package, the bungalow was equipped with a double hob, kettle and filter coffee machine also with frying pan, sauce pan and two large pans with lids. We cooked a couple of simple meals and dined on the terrace. Take some plastic storage containers they don't supply any! Maid service 5 days a week not Wednesday and Sunday they are very good leacing the place spotless. All the staff we met were excellent especially the reception team helping us use the local bus service which we found to be very good value, 3.5 euro for a 55min journey. Tip go down to the bus station near where the courtesy bus drops you and get a timetable from the friendly lady there. Take a map on the bus with you and from the timetable work where you want to get off, don't rely on the driver he can't remember where all 80 tourists want to get off, we had some very friendly ones who went out of their way to help us it does help if you try and speak the language if only a little! We did not have any trouble with the cats they are very wary and won't approach unless you encourage them, we saw no evidence of either cockroaches or ants in the bungalows, again don't leave food around basic hygene. We used the safe 24euro...Just returned from 2 weeks there with Thomsons as a self catering package, the bungalow was equipped with a double hob, kettle and filter coffee machine also with frying pan, sauce pan and two large pans with lids. We used the safe 24euro for 2weeks you get the deposit back, didn't bother with the TV or WIfi, if you need Wifi I used a local restaurant/bar called El Nublo at Faro2 its free. We also dined there several nights getting a compliamentary starter and drink, its the other side of the drainage ditch, it looks closed but isnt!
Downside the Bungalows are in need of refurbishment but everything worked, the Thomson Rep was only interested in selling her trips no warning about the water(use bottled for drinking the tap water tastes awful), the timeshare touts which are a serious nuisance and the "Lucky men" and African ladies who are very pushy.
We enjoyed our time there would we go back? possibly but elsewhere in the area probably.
We travelled as a couple recently retired.More
