“Not brilliant”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 30, 2013

I went on this holiday as a family of 6 and was expecting a room with two beds and a sofa bed. There is no sofa bed, it's a single sofa which you just lie on. The food was absolutely atrocious, a slab of jellified eggs and broccoli for breakfast! If you are a vegetarian don't go anywhere near this place, everything including basic salad has meat in, chips are just about all you can eat and that is only when there are some there. Everything is watered down, including all the milk. Even though there is a supposed rule about not reserving sunbeds even at 6 in the morning pretty much all of them were taken. The entertainment is two women doing the best they can with no resources. Brace yourself or karaoke with hardly any known songs. If going from for more than a week you have to go to reception to get your wristband changed but reception don't bother telling you this until they don't allow you in the restaurant. Only thing I can't complain about is the power shower and the weather

We have just returned from our first family holiday in 3 years with our two children, 6 and 3. The hotel staff are very friendly and when asked to fix anything/order anything it was done without hesitation or reminding.
The resort itself is clean and tidy, there is however NO AIR CONDITIONING except in the dining room. This makes it incredibly uncomfortable throughout the day and night-time. There is the option of renting a stand alone air conditioning unit for the week (roughly 100E inc deposit) or a fan for 15E each per week but to be honest these made very little (if any) difference. To be honest this is something that we should have looked in to prior to booking as at the height of august we were very aware that the temperature would be blindingly hot but presumed that this would be installed everywhere.
The rooms all have pool views and there are rooms over the smaller and quieter pool and rooms facing on to the larger pool which also sits amongst the evening entertainment and dining area. The music is played loudly until around 11.30pm when the bar shuts.
The hotel offers incredible value for money, the food is of better taste than many of the surrounding bars. The hotel is what you pay for. I have given three stars due to the expectations of what we paid and the value for money however I would not in a million years return to this resort of Gran Canaria for that matter. If you want culture and intelligent conversation this is not the place to go to, however if you want a week of industrialised sunshine with clientele that appear remarkably similar to the Little Britain stereotype then this is your place, unruly kids and adults alike.

we went to this hotel mid-august for a week as 2 adults and 2 boys aged 8 and 10
firstly the good points-
a lovely, friendly, small-ish hotel- the pools are large for the size of complex and my boys met lots of friends, as did we.
The rooms are spacious and the complex is lovely, well maintained
The kids loved the fact there was crazy golf, tennis, table tennis available, as the entertainment was not the greatest (very limited)
lovely sunshine!! and a very nice beach with free service

the negative points-
The rooms have no air conditioning!! VERY hot at night time and made sleeping very difficult! even although we hired 2 fans
The food choice was one of the worst we have had at all inclusive- salads very limited, desserts of only ice cream and jelly and fruit. Main meals maybe had 4 options- all meats covered in sauce usually! my husband hates sauce lol
for breakfast one morning my 8 year old had hotdog sausages and broccoli lol
The entertainment wasn't great,

if you have booked, don't worry you will have a good time despite the few negative. If you haven't booked yet maybe look at some other hotels first

after settle in the holiday became better with each day , the pools were lovely an great as we could see the chidren at all times , the rooms were spacious an clean an the staff worked hard to keep everyone entertained from the animation team to the bar staff etc !
the hotel is cosy and everyone gets to know everyone making a relaxing time
we did not like the food but then again never do on all inclusive ( buffet stlye ) but we always plan to eat out few times anyway , having said that we save a a fortune on drinks etc etc booking bargains like the club turbo ,one more thing to mention is the heat at night !!!! make sure you hire fan or 2 its major hot ! shame really as this is the only thing that is a major pain be fab if they got air con sorted !

We have just returned from 2 weeks holiday, we are afamily with 2 children aged 7 and 5.
What can i say but this holiday was great. the apartments are spacious, very clean a bit dull in decor, but really do you spend much time looking at the walls!!
Grounds are immaculate, gardeners is there every day tending to the gardens. All the staff work really hard, In our experience they will try and do anything for you. It was our daughters 5th birthday whilst there, the kitchen staff, decorated a table for her, and arranged a beautiful birthday cake with candle, which they bought into the resteraunt with lights dimmed, singing happy Birthday, excellent.
Taking of the resteraunt, I personally thought the food excellent, varied with some traditional such as paella and Calamari, and for the more traditional eaters meat and veg. My husband and i had the best pork we have ever tasted, just a word of warning to check the meat that comes of the griddle is completly cooked, a couple of times the pork was a little pink in the middle.
Drinks were fine, some an acquired taste, but we soon acquired it!!
Pools are great, they are deep, but you will be amazed at the number of children suddenly learning to swim because they had to, including our 4 and 364 days year old girl.
Free bus service to the beach excellent punctual and convenient.
We would definatly return again, in fact we are a bit worried if you we went elsewhere it wouldnt be as good.

The many plus points far outweigh the negatives in this lovely little hotel. What we liked most is that there is only 120 rooms. This meant that friendships were easily established by adults and children alike. My 14 year old daughter, for example, reckons she made 20 friends. We also felt happy to leave the kids go off to play in a safe environment.

There's always lots of activities for everyone to take part in. My 7 & 9 year olds enjoyed football, table tennis and darts to name just a few. My favourite was the water polo.

The food was very tasty and always plenty of choice. Although the menu can be a little repetitive, new items appeared right up to the end of our 11 night stay. As already mentioned by other guests, the queue for the toaster is a pain which isn't helped by people adjusting the setting when they don't know what they're doing. Turning the dial up doesn't make the toast ready quicker - it makes the bread travel through so fast that you have to put it through 2-3 times. The queue at the pool bar occasionally got a bit long, but generally not too bad

I found the extremely hardworking staff to be friendly and helpful.

I emailed the hotel direct to request two rooms on the upper floor overlooking the main pool and entertainment area, and the hotel accommodated my request to the letter. It could be a bit noisy up to 1 am. If you want something more peaceful ask for a room near the top pool.

The rooms are clean and serviced frequently. Be prepared for the odd cockroach. The beds were fine, but the pillows were not. Most of the family slept well, although the temperature became a bit stifling for the last couple of nights.

The free beach bus is great and if you get the 2pm return you can still make it in time for lunch. Ask for a packed lunch if you want to stay longer.

The nearby holiday world (5 min walk) is a little expensive, as is aqualand which is a 4 euro taxi ride away. Get there early and get on the big rides straight away before the queues build up. Don't forget your flip-flops or your feet will be pan fried in minutes. You also have the opportunity to book another visit for just 8 euros a person before you leave.

We returned yesterday after a very good holiday in turbo club. We are a couple with two children aged 12 and 10. I had read some reviews about this place and have to say I thought I was going to starve. However we arrived just as lunch was being served and from the very first day my worries were eased. My kids can be a bit fussy but always found something to eat. The rooms are very clean and ok you are not right next to the beach but you can get a free bus and then if you want a taxi back or bus comes back 3 times in a day. The taxi is only 4 euros back from beach. Also 4 euros to aqualand if this is on your trip list. There is a taxi rank right outside the hotel. The entertainment is not great in the evening but good for kids aged up to 12 if they like to dance. We went out most days and hotel will do a packed lunch if you order the night before. They give you rolls ham and cheese, and lots of fruit. Plenty as it was so hot we didn't want to eat much in the day anyway. Great holiday for the money..
